Faith and a .45 officially on hold, tears officially shed photo

Many of you may have forgotten the promising Faith and a .45, a depression-era co-op game from the same outfit that brought us Total Overdose. Its unique setting and Bonnie & Clyde-esque characters made this game incredibly appealing to me, but sadly it seems that the title is on hold until further notice.

I tried contacting Deadline Games about Faith a while ago, but didn't seem to get anywhere. Others had more luck, and found out that, while the studio doesn't have a problem making the game, it does have a problem finding anybody to publish it. Looks like nobody in the industry was as eager as I am to see this game released, so it's currently on the rocks.

I really hope a publisher heroically flies in to save this one from limbo. Deadline does good work, and it'd be a horrendous shame to see an original concept go the way of the dodo. We just need a publisher with a little Faith.

They need either a publisher with a little faith, or a .45 with which to force publishers to publish Faith and a .45.

I haven't even heard of this title till now, and I still feel deprived of what is a kick ass concept. Why hasn't someone done something like this sooner?

What platform? They can always to PC games over Steam. Or why not publish it themselves? In the Internet Age, I can't really believe that companies must have a publisher to get the games out.

@ John

You have any idea how much it costs to publish a game? This seems like a small studio and they probably don't have the money.

Online distribution, even if it means ordering the software directly from the company, is nowhere near as expensive as trying to establish an entire supply chain to the retailers. That's what I was gettnig at.

These guys should approach TellTale. I bet they'd be willing to help.

I was wondering whatever happened to this one just the other day.

I'd play it.

Wasn't Gamecock publishing this? I thought I remembered seeing promotional materials at their booth at PAX.

Anyway, it's a damn shame, since the setting is a wonderful change of pace from everything else. I hope some publisher takes a chance with it, like Brutal Legend and the Ghostbusters game recently.

@ John

Maybe they don't want to release it for PC gaming, maybe PC is just one platform, did you ever think of that?

Certain non-disclosure agreements prohibit me from talking alot about this game. But, i was at the Deadline games' offices to playtest Faith and a .45 last july. And let's just say that they've been struggling to make this game 'Fun' to play. The game had some major gameplay issues, and was not an enjoyable experience in the long run. I'm not hating on it, but it has a long way to go.

I think we need to bring more ideas for this purpose. Involvement of young people can be handy in this regard. I am happy to find a good post here. Thank you
