TROLLBAIT BABY GET DOWN
I love being old and not caring.
I agree with you. My favorite system is dictated by which has the better looking games at any given time. Right now my favorite system is the PS3. This article certainly isn't about the PlayStation 3. I love the physical products themselves, I just have a problem with the dips in charge of the systems, and the rabid fanboys surrounding them.
Also you mention people buying 360s to play Tales of Vesperia and then getting slapped in the face, but you don't mention people buying PS3s to play FFXIII and then getting slapped in the face. Just saying.
Proven right within the first four comments.
New world record GET!
I wouldn't say Sony fanboys are the worst type of fanboys, I would just say fanboys in general are a bad thing. People should just enjoy good games, not fight over who has the best system.
I love how Adam apologizes to the ps3 fanboys for "hurting their amazingly sensitive 10 year old girl feelings"
You bring up an interesting point about the "level" of exclusives, but I really wouldn't argue that Devil May Cry is quite on the same level as Final Fantasy or even Gears of War. It was a case of people worried that their one big exclusive at the time was going multiplat. Just look at the fear Sony fanboys have of "losing" MGS4 as well. The denial and rage that happens when you even *suggest* the possibility of MGS4 on a 360, even a year on, is huge.
As for this point: "Also you mention people buying 360s to play Tales of Vesperia and then getting slapped in the face, but you don't mention people buying PS3s to play FFXIII and then getting slapped in the face. "
There is a MASSIVE difference between the two. Tales of Vesperia PS3 was announced AFTER people had bought their Xbox 360s. They bought the 360, bought an inferior version of the game, and then got screwed over. The 360 version of FFXIII was announced before either version released, so people have time to make a decision. They've not been screwed as badly as they would've been if the 360 version was announced AFTER the PS3 release, with additional content added.
What's more, if you bought a PS3 purely for FF XIII *before* E3 2008, you're officially a fucking idiot. Who'd do that? Who'd buy a system for a game that was four years away from release? No sympathy at all for someone like that.
Though I guess all trolling is, in some way.
My only comment is that while some people would call me a "PC fanboy" I see that as a flawed term. I'm a PC gamer because I think PC is the best system to play games on, and I have logical reasons and preferrences behind that decision. PC gaming and console gaming used to be so seperated it was almost like two entirely different cultures really, and while they are closer now it is still pretty common for PC gamers to have never played a console, or console gamers to have never played a real PC game.
In a debate about the merits of PC versus anything else, I would of course support he PC and defend it as a gaming platform. That is because I am a PC gamer, pure and simple. This might make less sense when comparing much more similar consoles to one another, I suppose, which is where the term "fanboy" comes in. I just don't know if it applies the same way to PC gamers given the vast differences in that platform.
Jim wouldn't "waste the urine to piss on his leg"... errr golden box of glory. hehe current events.
I find it amusing how Jim is often labeled as having Anti-Sony Bias when his enjoyment of Killzone 2 (aside from Dynasty Warriors) is what I think of when I consider what games he loves/plays a lot of. Oh people who get irritated easily are fun.
Such stupidity I have never seen. Prototype was there for every Sony fanboy to enjoy, even compare to their 'beloved' inFamous, yet they chose to be mindless simpleton and create such hate against Prototype.
Sometimes I feel ashamed to own a PS3 when I see the hate of sony fanboys in full force. This coming from a person who owned a PS1 since the age of five, and didn't own another console from another company since my DS earlier this year. I never was blind to the advantages other consoles have, and p;ayed on them when I could, never was there a phase when I outright hated another console. Heck, I could do an entire essay about how Sony mis managed the PS3 and how it can be better.
I cannot, and will not understand a person's pathetic love for a company that does not love them, it's absurd, leading to the most arse-holish behaviour I have ever seen on the net. Pure venom comes out of some Sony fanboy's comments, venom that is unwarranted over a bloody machine.
Oh, and as a religious Muslim, I hope that dude in the pic dies in a fire, sorry, I just fucking hate all the bullshit people like him spew all over my religion, suicidal fucks.
There is a difference between discussing the merits of a chosen platform in an adult and civil way, and screaming like a little bitch and accusing an editor of "bias" because you disagree with him. You know the difference.
\M/
Anyway, i've never felt destructoid is biased or has an agenda against a certain system.
In any case, i want a PS3 to go along with my Wii and DS.
I suppose I can understand that. I guess I wouldn't really compare DMC to Gears or whatnot, but I'd say it's definitely on a higher "tier" than Lost Planet or Dead Rising.
And yeah, I'd agree that it's a bit crazy to buy a system for a game that's coming out in 4 to 10 years, but I think it does have a bit of validity.
Seriously, why do I need to be called an idiot for buying a machine that has no bearing on someone else's life? Somebody really needs to teach the kids to snap out of the 'support the company' mentality nowadays. "SONY BEAT MICROSOFT!" - Yeah, at what? Sales? How does that have anything to do with you if you don't get bonuses from the company itself?!
That whole competitive nature just boggles my mind at the moment.
In the grant scheme of things, brand loyalty is not important. Yet you see 30+ year-old men on YouTube acting like it's some cut-throat warzone. They act as if a huge conglomerate is their best friend, when really their main concern is making a buck. Not that that's a bad thing, it's just a fact.
Too bad no Sony fanboy will actually read this and will just assume you're hating on their precious console. Or if they do, they'll obsessively pick apart every sentence here. Good luck with that.
It didn't even make sense.. at all, even slightly.
