While Fable III has technically already been officially unveiled we actually haven't seen much of the game at all -- and by that I mean we haven't seen anything. This will all change come next month, which, for those of you without a calendar and basic knowledge of the Gregorian calendar system, is February. Lionhead Studio's community manager Sam Van Tilburgh has been tweeting a bit and has told the world that the game will be seen for the first time at an event next month.
Van Tilburgh revealed the information in two tweets. The first tweet noted, ”I’m writing storyboard summaries for two new #Fable3 videos @LionheadStudios."
In the second tweet, he wrote: “videos are to come out when we show #Fable3 for the 1st time at an event next month in SF.”
The mentioned event is a mystery to us, but it could be anything, anywhere. Also remember that Peter Molyneux has recently injured himself by falling through some ice. Who knows how long that could delay things. We might not even see Fable III until 2011 now despite what was said at CES. Damn you, ice! Damn you to hell!

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Not the people, but the ice-fields themselves.
I already have one of those.
"Does anyone give a shit?"
Yep.
I don't. I'm waiting on Heavy Rain for my "morale compass" game.
Haters gonna hate. I liked Fable 2. Mainly because I enjoy buying every fucking shop and fucking with prices on everything.
In any other developer's/game's case it would be perfectly fine to have a 2 year cycle... but Lionhead and Fable?!
The previous two Fable games had had huge development cycles, with many promises made and broken.
With Fable 3 Lionhead look to be stretching themselves! Promising new tech support with natal etc... It just seems quite a reach to expect it at the end of 2010.
Am I the only one who feels like this?
Good point. Corrected.
Yep, lots of people do. It's just that the people who enjoy the Fable games aren't nearly as vocal as the people who don't.
I'm definitely down for some more Fable, I'm just concerned about how much Natal they're gonna mix in.
How many times must we ask this question of the short bus riders? If you don't like the game and have no interest, why are you posting?
Me, I want every scrap you find, Destructoid. Both Fable's have been up there as some of my favorite games and because I like to do more things than only games, I don't surf dozens of game sites.
I settled on only here because you guys are on it. So if you're keeping track, for scientific purposes, here's one more regular reader saying they love the Fable series and want all the info you get.
I think Molyneux is in a rush to rebuts against the criticisms of Fable 2.
That and I don't believe it'll actually release this year. You gotta spread those exclusives out, ya know?
True. Microsoft year seems full aleady... Mass Effect 2, Splinter Cell, Halo Reach, Alan Wake, Natal (w/ launch titles).
Fable 3 seems OTT.
But then again Microsoft had a pretty dire year in 2009 so perhaps they want to make up lost ground.
Well, have to see I suppose. Although I did like Fable 2 it was still a disappointment.
I played Fable 1 on my PC. Haven't played 2. 1 was fun, but utterly pointless. Wasn't dissing D-Toid.
That's about it.
Never again.
I kid... I kid...
But seriously, think they'll bug test this one?
They could literally make a game about guessing which features will be mentioned then dropped in the final release. My vote goes to anything innovative being cut in favor of halfassery and cash grabs. In-game stores that charge real world money for stuff? I am SO there!
