Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

We're all about love here at Destructoid, so we must say that we embrace this "love" that Lionhead is trying to bring across with Fable 2. The first in what should be a series of diaries leading up to the release of Fable 2, this video in particular deals with that human emotion that many of us feel as we see a robot glide into an empty room. Enjoy!

But can they make us wuv the freaking game? All I see is Molyneux biting off more he can chew.... again.

Love huh? I hope the NPC's love it when they get their asses chopped up and their house burned to the ground; the best part of fable was the devil horns and the carrion cloud.

I'm really excited about this game, but not too excited because it's not going to be released anytime soon, so I guess I'm more like "moderately" excited but with a hint of skepticism and a little excitement.

Oh Peter. Promise us the world again. And when he was talking about the dog(you don't control it. no control. there is no control over the dog)... all I could think of is South Park.

"This is Chewbacca. Chewbacca is a wookie..."

"This does not make sense."

So great. The dog will be awesomely realistic. But the rest of the game won't deliver.

I liked Fable. Mostly because I didn't get caught up in the hype since I knew almost nothing about it until it came out. I'm going to try and avoid the hype again.

i liked fable as well, i don't however feel it lived up to the hype, but most games don't. I'll give this one a shot as well, but i am not really excited about it.

I think this is really fascinating. Sure, Molyneux has a (well-deserved) for over-hyping, but I think that simply goes hand-in-hand with the fact that he really does try to create something new and different in all of his projects. Even if Fable 2 doesn't live up to it, at the very least he is laying groundwork for concepts that future developers can build off of and perfect. Why would people hate him for that?

Plus, you know, he created my avatar.

"We give you No control over the dog, just think about that a second, no control, you havent got a dog button"

I love hearing about how cool my non-playable dog will be over and over, I dont want any info on the game what-so-ever unless it involves no dog button and not controling the dog.And love. Its total love for you and not being able to control him.Its all about coming of age, you used to care for him has a pup and now he's all " I can do it myself man, lay off!"but he's still there for you no matter what,Unconditional but uncontrolable love, from a dog..........If i put peanut butter on my nuts will he lick it off?

I'm only capable of loving myself. I do it a couple times each day. In the bathroom.

Wait, I'm thinking of brushing my teeth. What's love again?

I didn't hear much of the Fable hype, but I really enjoyed it when I picked it up and played it. I'm looking forward to Fable 2, especially after seeing this. It not only looks fantastic, but the sort of emotional involvement they're trying to create should make for a very engaging gameplay experience.

@bobafett

If you can what if it turns around and bites your cock off while trying and makes it so you cant have any babies.and on that note....

Anybody remember the intricate love and family system that they were talking about? How does a no dog button trump that shit? I much rather see how I can raise a little bastard of a kid than try to molest my dog over and over just to have him love me back like some sick alabama love connection.

I thought it was just molyneux who was a douchey pretentious windbag, but it turns out it's actually EVERYONE at lionhead. Man, I hate those guys. This is just molyneux biting off more than he can chew again, focusing more on relatively unimportant details rather than making a fun game. All that crap about the dog just reminded me of argo in shadow of the colossus, only with more superfluous crap that has very little bearing on the game other than as a distraction(see black and white creatures). I played fable expecting little, as I was burned very hard by black and white, but I was still decidedly unimpressed. It was just a run of the mill slasher with RPG elements, but not the good RPG elements.

One of molyneux's prototype vlogs.
