Microsoft has announced today that "due to supply chain issues," the price of the Fable II Limited Collector's Edition will now be $69.99 (as opposed to the previously announced $79.99).
They're not just feeling generous -- the "supply chain issues" apparently have changed the contents of the collector's edition. So what do you lose? Oh, just the premium box, five printed fate cards, and Hobbe figure. So what do you still get?
- Fable II game disc.
- Bonus DVD with new 'Making-of' Feature
- Bonus in-game content ("The Hall of the Dead" dungeon, "The Wreckager" Legendary Cutlass Weapon, and Spartan armor and energy sword)
Microsoft feels bad about the mix-up, and, as a show of good faith, are offering up a free Fable album download. The album contains selections of Fable 1 music, as well as three new tracks up Fable II. You can pick it up by heading over to http://www.sumthingdigital.com and entering "FableCollection" as the promotion code, starting on October 6 at 9 a.m. PST.
So, who's canceling their Collector's Edition pre-order? No Hobbe figure, no sale, right?
That said, I could see how this would piss off people who are in to that part of it.
Not cancelling here...
I'll probably just save my money. I always regret spending that extra money when I buy a collectors edition.
Grrrr....
Sadface.
I'm still pissed as hell about it, mind you, and I doubt I'll ever buy a Lionhead game again, between the original Fable promises and now this bullshit.
oh well 10 bucks cheaper
damn i'm so fucking pissed off. FUCK!
they think a soundtrack is gonna make up for it? Fuck no.
you are right I am gonna cancel my pre-order
