Better then the Alice MR one. It was the same way but in B&W. Real shame imo as we're still paying the same amount of money for less. Not a huge deal but I remember manuals in the good old days.
At the very least, it makes full color manuals all the more pleasant/surprising to find.
12 pages. Full color. Some art. They probably reference it in the 'insert' manual.
It getting to the point when I may just stop gaming and move only something else to fill by free time.
I've read and sniffed the case and manual for every game I've owned. Love it.
Not every game can be Metal gear solid style mini-mangas with tutorials but a SINGLE SHEET. It doesn't even have Staples, STAPLES...
Thanks for bringing this to public attention Jim. A serious issue we must all dwell upon and draw our own regrets.
I myself read the manual before I play a new game I bought, and I also know a surprising amount of people that also do. It's just sad that they're on the way out because manuals have always been part of the experience of buying a game. Also, I think a $5-10 price drop is perfectly reasonable. If game manuals aren't that expensive to produce, then why are publishers producing black & white pamphlets? Face it, game manuals are added towards the $60 price tag, so since they are going to be gone soon, the price should go down a bit. It won't happpen, but it should.
I loved that, instead of forcing you to play a lenghty tutorial, it gave you the chance to feel like a selftaught man. You could try playing on your own ou reading the manual first
So apparently works this way, nobody wanna read the manual but is expect that the manual be an extravaganza.
I call the opinion of the Bullshit Man in this matter.
When was the last time I've read a manual? When I got Red Dead Redemption a couple of weeks ago. In fact I've read that several times. "Helping the environment" is a bullshit response. If developers aren't getting the paper then someone else will. Like bounty Paper towels or the people that prints off labels for canned food. Stuff that will be used and thrown away once. At least with Manuals it can be used several times. While I like the Color Manuals I would rather have the black and White manual than no manual at all.
I wrote him a poem to regognise his daily achievement:
Jimmyx is a real man,
he says "first!" whenever he can.
No Dtoid comments be complete,
without that man's first challenge beat.
I see him in the queue most days,
he aways has something to say.
His thirst, his quench, it pulls him near,
front of the line, he hears our cheer.
I wrote a poem for this man,
because in his shoes, one day I'll stand?
If only I could be the best,
he's inspiration, I must confess.
I'm not going to lie and I don't mean to sound big headed, but reading that back brought a salty tear to my eye.
Another fine point is that if the game in question is being marketed in the U.S., most kids over here can't read anyway...so it's a niche perk in the end ultimately.
