Slo-Mo Deathmatch was a fairly popular mode of play in the multiplayer for the original F.E.A.R. so it's a bit mystifying as to why it wasn't shipped with F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin when it released last year. With new content coming in the form of the Reborn DLC late this month, Monolith has decided to also release a free update containing the mode on September 3rd for consoles followed by a PC release in a few weeks time.
After the jump, you can watch a video which shows what the designers had to go through in order to bring Slo-Mo Deathmatch back. I don't want to spoil anything, but it clearly required science. And sweatsuits. Lots and lots of sweatsuits. It is a fairly humorous thing on the internet that you can watch.

My boner was murdered when I was all excited to play the new playground maps, but couldn't, because no one was on. I ended up messing around in the pinball stage for an hour, by myself!
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
When I bought this, the community was scarce.
When I downloaded the new free "playground" maps, it was abysmal (1 game a day).
I can't imagine anyone is still playing it.
Still doesn't explain how the mode works though...
Thanks for the bonerkilling...
Also it was quite good.
Would this step it up a notch and get people to actually play? maybe. maybe not.
