F.E.A.R. 2 gets catty with viral marketing photo

Mischief PR are a smart bunch. Case in point: to promote the release of Fear 2, they suited up specially trained black cats with the little Fear 2 branded jackets you see above. Tomorrow, Friday the 13th, they will patrol the streets of London with their trainers to try to garner up some attention for the game (and no doubt to scare the hell out of some superstitious types).

Of course, cats are also cute, so even for people who are not the scary types, they may be wondering why cats are walking around wearing little coats,so the marketing ploy still works. All I can think of is taking my cat out on a walk, which would surely result to some sort of injury to myself and quite possibly others.

Umm so they'll be walking about on leashes in London? I don't want them to get trampled! :( I don't see how walking with kitties is gong to attract the target audience somehow..

I'm not afraid of the cat, but the game scares the hell out of me. Maybe i can buy the game and trade it in for one of those cute black cats with them jackets.

This is a very clever viral marketing idea, will Puzzle. Puzzle? Puzzle! have trained dolphins promoting it to people in cruise ships?

If I ever tried to put my cat on a leash, I'd never be able to sleep again - the second my eyes closed, my cat would slit my throat in vengeance and ensure they never opened again. Then again, I suppose the same would go for any self-respecting cat (this bunch thinks their cats are "trained"...that's just what the cats want them to think, until the moment of the uprising is nigh).

Then, when the day is done, the cat goes back home and hangs up his jacket. He then produces $2 from his day of work that has to support his entire family and just before bed he has to put up with that bitch in heat who wont shut up about how he never pleases her anymore.

Not so cute anymore is it.

People like to be scared, I'll bet this gets some kind of mainstream news headlines being Friday the 13th with black cats in jackets.
