Good publicity stunt, I might say.
Man, that kid beat World Of Warcraft.
lol martino
if you listened to the latest podtoid then you'd really LOL @ Martino.
for those of you that didn't. they discuss about how when you "beat" a game like EQ2 or WoW you die. it's horrible i know.
@black mage slim
just listened to it, and I am utterly shocked that you can't win teh haloes.
This is a nice story but obviously Blizzards intentions aren't entirely altruistic.
More importantly (and that is meant with all possible respect to the young guy with cancer): We need another Jet Set/Grind Radio game. Why did none of you worthless peons buy it first and/or second time round?
I really don't think the kid cares what Blizzard's motivation was.
What do you mean they obviously aren't altruistic? I believe they absolutely are. Blizzard is rewarding a young boy who is such a big fan of their games that his dying wish was to see their studio and play around with godlike powers in his favorite game.
Granted, no public relations department in the world wouldn't use this to the company's advantage, but at its core I firmly believe this gesture was driven by nothing but noble intentions.
I concur with Mecha.
If I thought this was purely an attention grab, I would have written such things.
Whoa, I gotta listen to the podtoid. Apparently I am a lot funnier than I thought...
Okay, nevermind, Man. I am a TERRIBLE person. Rofl.
Jeeze, I wish I had cancer...
Okay, that's fucked up even for me. It's awesome that Blizzard is making this kid's remaining time rad, at least in Azeroth.
I saw a youtube video of two GM's fighting Illidan shortly after the last patch went live and one of the GM's used the phoenix to get to the black temple. Does that mean that GM has a terminal disease?
i suppose it does have connotations of being a bit smarmy by blizzard but look at it like this
a dying kid got to have a great time and all because blizzard took pity on this poor kid.
no 2 ways it can be pervieved as public relations gold but so what
FOR GODS SAKE THINK OF THE CHILDREN
ive got a bad leg do i get free stuff to ?????
Don't yell at me, I bought both Jet Set AND Jet Grind Radio titles. Too bad the sequel took away the actual skill involved in spraying tags, I would have actually played beyond the first level. Ho-hum.
In other news, considering I have never even touched a copy of WoW, I can still see that this is an amazing thing for Blizzard to do for a child in need. Go them.
wow, it's a good thing i have my cancer-resist pvp gear on!!!
I am so so sorry
