It comes from the statement from Polyphony Digital's Kazunori Yamauchi saying that the ultra-delayed Gran Turismo 5 is 90 percent complete now. Bullsh*t. I feel like even if it's 99 percent complete, we still won't see it for forever.
"We are just working on the last ten percent and polishing up everything," he told USA Today.
You say that, and then we see that the Japanese release date was pushed back. And look at this GameStop release/ship date for the game: November 1, 2010. What?! Early last year, you said the same thing!
It's just some arbitrary number you picked out of your head, just like you said that your game is using 80 percent of the PS3's power. Quit talking, quit making sh*t up and get back to working on your game so that you might release it before people stop caring about it.

Do you remember that chart someone collected of all the major games that were developed and released in the same time Duke Nukem Forever was still "in developement"? I bet the GT5 chart would be just as big.

Considering the quote from the recent delay was 'the delay only affects Japanese markets' I'd assume they are merely shooting for a closer to worldwide release date.

You can't release FF13, God of war 3, and gran turismo 5 in the same month. Hell even GOW3 and FF13 coming out in the same month is insane. I'm expecting an april release in japan, and May in the U.S.
Too late. I stopped caring(read: waiting) and bought Forza, then Forza 2. And now it looks like it won't be long before Forza 3 is also purchased. I am a pretty patient person, but damn. This game had better blow Forza outta the water for the developers sake.

And to all the people complaining: You are just complaining because the bloggers keep egging this situation on. Sad to see so many people rely on websites to tell them how to feel. There's like a billion games on the market, find something else to play. GT5 will come out whenever its ready.
You all know it will sell millions, specifically to the broader market, the market that doesnt get too wrapped up in the gaming world.
It will be featured on Top Gear, mens magazines (not those ones) and the national media will praise it with their limited understanding of videogames in those funny little 'technology' sections....

It's funny to see you saying things like "Sad to see so many people rely on websites to tell them how to feel" while in the same breath you're telling people that their time with a playable demo of the game is wrong because of screenshots put out for the game's PR cycle. My problems with the game had almost nothing to do with the visuals; it just didn't play well.
a wise strategy for such a highly anticipated, extremely delayed game.
and like i said earlier, you can't release FF13, GOW3 and GT5 in the same month, people who cant afford to buy all 3 will chose 1 or 2 and sony would lose out on sales overall.
It will be out this year, c'mon, I know everyone loves abit of drama, and yea its taken a few years, but GT5 is blatently gonna be out this year.....
This storm in a teacup will be long forgotten by the time GT5 is out and winning awards left right n centre.

Why not every developher is making such a smart marketing? So every Bad demo i played recently must be a real gem. Conversely this means every good demo is a bad game. Man, if i had just heard your advise sooner! I could have saved a lot of money!

Then every anger is blown awy faster than you can say "shotgun", the praising(gt5) will start over again as much as the bashing(forza3) and we can live in piece and harmony again...till GT6 on PS4
But honestly, what other choices do the (only)ps3 owners have but keep waiting? If gT5 where a gametype wich would interesst me i would do the same, but lukily its not so i keep living my (gamer)life without delays
