Explore Fable II's 'Knothole' on December 22 photo

When it was originally announced, Lionhead and Microsoft had promised that we'd be seeing Fable II's first downloadable content, "Knothole Island," on December 12. That's tomorrow for the calender-impaired.

But according to CVG, Lionhead has confirmed that the Knothole Island pack will "definitely be hitting Xbox LIVE on December 22." So maybe they originally had their 1s and 2s mixed up, right?

Whatever the case, this should give a lot of people -- myself included -- time to actually sit down and see Fable II to its completion. Personally, I'm not too keen on dropping 800 MS Points on an expansion to a game which I haven't even finished yet. But surprisingly, I know more people who have completed Fable II than haven't, so I'm clearly in the minority here.

Do your holiday plans include visiting Knothole Island this year?

I will indeed be visiting Molyneux's Knothole. What's that? You didn't know he had one?

Okay, in all seriousness, yes I will be downloading this, and not doing anything sexual involving either Fable II, Peter Molyneux, or Lionhead. (haha, head)

I'm still holding out for a PC version, mostly because of a serious lack of 360s in my house.

Fuck Fable 2...

(Chris Rock's Voice) YEAH I SAID IT.

I beat this game in 2 days. Got the gargoyles and demon doors opened. And now what... I have to pay money for an island that was FREE in Fable 1? Fuck that.

This game absolutely sucked and I couldn't wait for it to come out when i first heard about it. I ran through this game and WITHOUT using the money cheats. In the beginning, I just bought what property I could slowly accumulating money till I had everything. I have like 4 Million dollars ANDNOTHING TO BUY!!! Oh wait I can buy new houses on the 15 20 dollar NEW ISLAND.

Eat shit Peter and whatever fag thinks this game is even slightly comparable to a fun time. All I did was get my gun power up and blast face all day and it was so repetitive it made me sick.

I WOULD pay for DLC that included FUCKING ARMOR!!!

Oh yeah, no armor in these days because bullets don't effect your royal shirt... Or sword stabs...

Where the FUCK is Anthony Burch to help me shit on a game that is overpriced, repetitive, and a fucking waste of time.

I want DLC for fallout 3. That's a fucking game!!!

DLC for a 65 dollar game only a month after release. If you really love the game, you will buy it. In other words, people who really love the game are punished by paying more for it.

Sorry for rant... I just can't stand paying for overpriced shit on a game that was HALF finished.

Knothole Island. Did they hand over naming privileges to 4chan?

@GooN:

I agree 100%. There was so much wrong/missing from the game; it literally felt like an RPG as made by Fisher Price. Everything was simplified(read: dumbed-down) to the point of being tedious and monotonous. Couple that with a shitty and poorly told story and one of the most anti-climactic final boss battles, and the end result is a piss-poor game.

Don't feel too bad, I got this game the first day it came out and I still haven't finished it either. It might be because I was determined to explore everything possible, but after the first week or so the concept of loading it up after a long day of work and putting kiddo to bed didn't tug on my heart-strings as much as it would need to. Don't get me wrong, it's a fun game and I enjoyed what I've played so far, but the npcs do little to tickle my fancies and it could've just as easily been released as a hack'n'slash with a horde of dimwits to curse or praise you as you see fit.

That said, I doubt I'll be paying for an expansion. Maybe they'll get bored and remove the price in a year... or I'll get bored and buy it in a year if next year's line-up continues to look as drab.

I enjoyed Fable II.

I know. Shocking, right?

I'll most likely grab the DLC.

I'll get it but I have to go through the game again first. I made the mistake of picking the "sacrifice" option at the end and didn't realize how much I relied on my doggie :(

I really dig the Fable games so I'll definitely be getting the DLC... Knothole Glade was my favorite place in the original, so this new version should be fun...

I loved just doing stupid shit in Fable 2, but overall it was a bit disappointing. Still need to play through it as an evil asshole, so no real need to waste 800 points on an island just yet..

Nice timing though, release it in the xmas season while there is no other good game to buy :P

I loved Fable II for a while... before all the glitches completely ruined all of the remaining fun. How about instead of releasing DLC, they actually patch some of the problems, i.e. you can't save in Bloodstone without getting a glitch on the next boot, I can no longer talk to people in Bowerstone, I walk super slow at random times and the only way to fix it is to talk to the Bard.

Also, the anti-climactic boss fight is ALWAYS a let-down.

All in all, I wanted to love this game, but several fatal flaws in programming killed it for me. PATCH THAT SHIT!!!

@ GooN

For what its worth, there is armor in the DLC.

What now?

@brosef

The patch is in certification

@article

I'm definitely looking forward to this. I'm having a blast with Fable II, and haven't been affected by the bugs.

This is why I come back to my old comments...

Doucheba.... I mean...
@Tubatic

GREAT! For your "what now?", I believe my question still stands. WHY, in the world do I have to pay extra money for ARMOR?

My point was that the game they made (NOT UPDATED) has no knight type armor AND I ALSO have to """buy""" DLC to get an island that was featured in the original title.

So... 'What now' is correct.

Its called bullshit

Analogy here:

I go to buy a bag of weed and the dealer gives me an empty bag for 20 bucks. I look at him and say, "HEY! I bought weed, man, and you gave me and empty bag."

And if he turns around and says, "oh, sorry, you paid for the bag but the weed is an extra 5 bucks."

I would say, "well that's fucked up and not buy any more product from said Tubati... oops
I mean from said douche.

Oh yeah for anyone else... I am not blaming anyone... not even Peter M., though he could get a swift kick in his British teeth by the chicken kicker. I can only blame myself for buying this dirty weed.

That is all.

Hey GooN, I think I read somewhere that you can get the armor as part of a free update if you don't want to download the Knothole Glade. The information is on Lionhead's website. PM me if you want me to find the link.

@GooN

Whoa. Look, all I gave you was 1) information that it seemed like you didn't know 2) a followup question on if this made a difference for you.

CHILL THE FUCK OUT DICKWAD.

I understand its the internet and all, but at least around here, we have these little fucking things like civile discussions and shit. I was just interested in if that new peice of information realyl made a difference to you, which in a round about asshole sort of way, no, it doesn't really matter to you.

If you're going to act like an asshat about someone telling you something you didn't know and asking you "What now?", you can fuck right off.

Seriously.

Goon, youre an idiot. Why? Because 'All I did was get my gun power up and blast face all day and it was so repetitive it made me sick'

I could have done the same. Pulled out my sword, whacked X, killed everything. Instead, i had fun. I teleported around, i used flourishes, i pulled out my gun and shot people in the face when i felt like it.
Dont claim a game is boring just because you decided and, it seems, dedicated yourself to playing it a boring way.

Meanwhile, i dont remember bloodstone in Fable 1. Or the Spire. Ooo man they should be freely patched in!

Its not a perfect game, but frankly, if you dislike it this much, why come to an article about it to bitch.
You have a blog that. Or even forums.
