With Jagex planning on putting out its free browser-based MMO Transformers Universe next year, there's still plenty of time for the beta to happen. Because, it's got to have a beta -- it is a videogame, after all. "It's very soon," executive producer Kris Jones said to Eurogamer.
"We don't want to pigeon-hole ourselves to just the toys, or just [Generation 1 1984-1993], or just Prime, or just the movies. We've been very clear that we want to take from all over the universe. That's why it's called Universe."
Continuing, Jones explains that "Stylistically we've taken some nods from the recent cartoon series, which have been incredibly well received."

Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied:
"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Lost me again at 'free to play browser based'. Stopped there.
That being said, a free to play browser based game has a lower cost of entry, so at least there will be plenty of people playing.
Unfortunately they killed the economy and took out PvP and that's when I stopped playing. Apparently is all better now, the only problem now being that there is hardly any high level content compared to an excess of beginner content.
