"Not only will our team be eating, sleeping, and breathing Tomb Raider," writes Crystal Dynamics community and communications manager Meagan Marie, "but we'll also be hard at work preparing to reveal exciting new intellectual property to the world."

A game studio developing a new IP isn't exactly breaking news, though it is good to know that there's some diversification happening in 2012. In this ongoing console cycle, some unexpected twists and turns wouldn't be seen as a bad thing.

Guys, when you're done with those games, can we get another Gex over here? I'd love to see a new, M-rated installment along the lines of Conker's Bad Fur Day.
