Here it is, the first trailer for Skullgirls, an upcoming 2D fighter from Autumn Games and Reverge Labs for "high-definition consoles" in 2011. So, PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.
It looks suitably ridiculous, and silky smooth as far as the animation is concerned. Especially the part where the girl's hair turns into an octopus that squeezes another character. That actually happened, guys.
I'm fairly certain Skullgirls is being shown off at GDC -- hey, that's going on right now! -- so don't even think about closing your browser in favor of doing something crazy like being productive. It'll also be playable at PAX East -- booth #750.
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied:
"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Last time I picked up a Japanese fighting game that reminds me of this one, a Gundam game of some sort, the controls were shit and the characters felt sluggish.

I really like his style, this game interests me.
