Exclusive Mirror's Edge DLC isn't exclusive after all photo
EA released one of those standard "the game is now out" press releases yesterday for Mirror's Edge and it wasn't exactly clear on the upcoming DLC. Turns out that exclusive DLC coming to the PlayStation 3 is actually coming out on the Xbox 360 as well. GameCyte got in touch with a rep from EA and they confirmed that this is indeed true.

Surprised? You shouldn’t be! EA loves money and leaving downloadable content as a console exclusive means less money for them. I am curious as to what the DLC will contain. I hope it involves a bunch of new outfits that Faith can wear. I would actually pay just to be able to dress Faith up in a bear suit.

And for you PC gamers, the PC version of Mirror’s Edge will be seeing a January 2009 release. If no bear suit DLC comes out, then I hope that one of you crafty readers will make a bear suit outfit mod for the PC version. I will love you forever if this happens.

For more on Mirror’s Edge, check out our review that went up yesterday and check out our latest contest where you can win a copy of the game.

If anybody pays for DLC on a PC game they deserve to be shot, several times, in the balls.

XBox style UIs in "Games for windows" is bad enough, I'm not having my pastime turned into xbox emulation.

I'd like to see head to head multiplayer races personally... but I wouldn't be too pleased about paying for it, since I feel it was a ridiculous oversight not to include it in the first place.

Sony and Microsoft should start punishing companies that tell them something is exclusive, make a big announcement, then renege on their end of the exclusive part. Or at least make better face-saving contracts that make these companies liable for announcing something as exclusive when it ends up not being so.

So it was never exclusive? eh, no DLC will save this game from it's faults.

Wow, did Sony not tie this down or something?

I was hoping that the parkour dogs were the exclusive DLC...
If not, I'm fine with it being non-exclusive.

lol @ Monodi

What was this DLC anyway? New colors? New costumes? More time attacks?

I wouldn't put it past EA to actually include new outfits for the character who you only ever see in occasional mirror shots and cutscenes.

Pedobear adventure DX.

I foresee it.

Glad I haven't picked it up yet since I tend to lean towards the side with more DLC if it's Multiplatform, and 360 as a standard PS3 for Exclusives or Exclusive DLC.

DLC costumes would be great in a FPS [technically] where you would see it. My guess is extra maps.

So have we just moved into the outright lying stage of exclusive DLC? Lie about the exclusivity, ship the game, then say it's not exclusive? Have we really come to that?

Anyone remember when Assassin's Creed was a PS3 exclusive? I wouldn't be surprised if Sony pulled the same thing with the Mirror's Edge DLC: Get the publisher to bullshit about exclusivity with hopes that it will generate more sales.

Considering that you hardly ever actually see Faith unless you look straight down at your legs, I'd be rather bummed if the DLC is a bear suit. :(

However if one could dress all the security forces as pedo-bear that would be fitting. A Japanese girl running from the prospect of getting raped is just as good as the actual game story.

I wanted this game anyway, so DLC is even more reason to pick it up now. Kind of sucks for PS3 fanboys, they never get to gripe about much other than LBP and MGS.

And no, I'm not an Xbox 360 fanboy. It just genuinely sucks that they were lied to.
