Excite Truck developer working on a secret game photo

Monster Games, developer of Excite Truck for the Wii, is reportedly working on a “top-secret” game for an unspecified Nintendo platform. According to the report from Locally Grown (based in Northfield, Minnesota where Monster Games is located) the developers have been working on this mysterious title for two years and darkening their monitors whenever a water deliveryman comes to refill their water cooler.

It is also being reported that the title is almost finished, which certainly makes us excited. The big question is what type of game is Monster creating that requires this kind of covert conduct? Hopefully it’s not NASCAR Heat 2010 or some kind of rekindling of Viper Racing.

I haven’t the slightest idea what Monster could be making, but if its Nintendo published and obviously being held in such regard, it makes me wonder if this is one of those fabled “core” titles we’ve heard so much about. It would be nice if this was a sequel to Thrill Kill, but I have a feeling it’s Excite Truck 2. What do you guys think?

Did they ever actually release Thrill Kill? I would have thought I'd known about it. I couldn't wait to play as Dr. Faustus. Amputees too? Contortionists? It would have been kind of like "Freaks" + Mortal Kombat.

Excite Truck 2 would be awesome with online multiplayer of course. The first one was good, but if its not a sequel to Excite Truck it will still be cool to see what new IP they come up with. If it is actually a original idea they have. Who knows, but either way its yet another 2009 title to look forward too!

I, uh, actually might have an idea what they're working on. I live in Northfield, and have actually been up inside the monster games studio several times. The studio director is the father of a friend of mine. I don't want to get anyone fired so I'm not gonna tell you what I know. I might be able to say that it involves cars. And bouncing. But keep that on the DL.

The only reason I can come up with to keep the platform secret is because it's for the DSi.

Holy cow! Monster Games made this game?

Hey, wait... shut up! Viper Racing is still awesome. The suspension view is the best viewpoint EVER in a racing game, and hornball rules!

After they made what could have been a good game in the excitebike series and failed I don't really care what they are doing now.

The only way I would care what they are doing is if they are going to start making other nintendo games suck.

Seriously the only good game in the "excitebike series" was the NES game, then there was the uber crap n64 game But I try to forget that and cry into my pillow every night sicne it scared me for life.

So at least excitetruck was better than the horrible excitebike 64 game. .....slightly but that is not saying that much.

@garison

Then be offended at his opinion and call it shit. I shall laugh as the ensuing battle breaks out reminiscent, I hope, of Dynasty Warriors 6. But something will be missing... of yes, Sima Yi.

It's for the Wii and called Super Waggle Racing 10. What happened to the other 9? Don't ask.
