Before I touch on the list, will you look at this gorgeous sci-fi European version of the Guardian Legend? This is almost as criminal as
Bayou Billy. Then you look at ours, which if you blur your eyes looks like a red bullfrog face with chapped lips. How does our Serpentor cover even make any sense anyway? It doesn't sell the story of the cyborg babe that transforms into an airplane to kill skeletal fish, robots, and tentacle eyeball things in space. The arsenal you accumulate in this game is unbelievable, I don't know of another shooter on any console that did it quite like this... plus it's also an adventure/maze game when you're not flying. I hope the Euro box came second or somebody needs to get bodyslammed. Anyway, I've never played Cocoron but the games on this
Top 10 NES games unknown by developers are totally solid and rarely discussed. There's bound to be one that catches your eye and fires up your ebay account or emulator. If you're at a loss, start with Guardian Legend. The soundtrack itself is worth the price of admission. [ via
