What does Ono do since last showing SFxT? Adds Street Fighter's version of the Fatality, the Super. So, forgive me if I have posted this before, but:

To Rabite's credit, I also had some trouble reading what you were getting at. Could you explain it again?
I'm not sure what you are referring to has been added since the last showing that is equivalent to MK's "Fatality"
I realize that Super's have been in just about every damn Street Fighter game but when the first one in years comes along that DOESN'T have one, the game is shipping up to be unique in that it doesn't rely on having a big 'flashy' finish, ones gets tacked on after all for god-only-knows why. That and because it was Ono's biggest critique of 'Western' developed fighting games. His hypocrisy, is mostly what I was referring to.
Thanks for clarifying! However, I disagree that the Supers in SF are similar to the fatalities in MK. In fact when it comes to the Supers, there are many times where it would be smart NOT to use it to end a match, since you'd want to save your meter for other skills necessary, such as partner cancels. For me, supers are just another tactical tool in the SF repertoire to be used to deal damage to the opponent (comparing to MK, they are more like the X-ray moves)
I think what Ono is referring to by the "Fatality" is that, to him, the joy of winning the match of the "Wester" developed game is that the point of the game is to win in order to get the option of doing a fatality, whereas in "Eastern" play, the using your tools to achieve a win is the point of the game.
Not sure I completely agree, or if thats what he means, but I don't think he is being hypocritical with that.
@Narishma: Ok, then. Tell me, how do you feel about 'X-Ray' moves in Mortal Kombat? ;)
I just want it to be known that the Ultra's and Super's, while still a technical game mechanic, are still 'flashy' and a fancy 'end' to the 'means' just like MK. And speaking of EVO, high level play in MK usually ends with NO Fatalities performed, since their new/freshness honeymoon period is over. And yes, Ultras/Supers are now most like X-Ray moves in MK.
But like I said, I dont necessarily agree, I just see his point with the Fatalities bit. MK, while is not my game of choice, has techincal stuff like Breaker and X-ray that are what makes the game, not necessarily the Fatality. And like you said, he would probably think different after seeing some of the stuff at EVO this year.
<3
I get what you're saying, but I think you're straight up wrong about his "hypocrisy." The sun burst finish is fun As far as I understand, these supers will take along time, so they're not even that viable.
Plus, I believe the very first video of SFXT had Ultras that have since been removed.
I mean, I'm just getting the vibe that you don't like Ono (which is fine) and like saying rude things about him rather than actually making a point. Is SFxT not technical and strategic? Do supers or ultras take that away?
No matter what, Fatalities are not an ends to a mean. They are pure show. Basically, I totally disagree with what you said.
