EverQuest is an MMO. And thats all I know about the series. No wait... there are elves and orcs or ogres and dwarves... I think. Yes. I wish them luck!
I'm actually pretty excited for this. Was a huge EverQuest fan when it first released and up to one of later expansions (instanced dungeons, I believe). I really hope they've learned from their mistakes with EQ1 and 2.
Lemee know when they bring up Planetside Next, that Smedley made mention of a while back. THAT ONE, could be interesting.

What will they do when Everquest Next is out and they have to announce another one, Everquest After Next?? Poor contingency planning, activision/blizzard would never make such a sequel confusing decision.

I was actually there when they announced it. The screenshots really don't do justice as those were pretty much pictures taken of a projection screen 50 feet away. (For reference, that's Innothule.) You can see some of the additional concept art at http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=414807181475 , just skip to about 5 minutes in. The Kobold looks pretty badass.
@Tnexus that's a pretty cool video, but concept art for EQ has historically been vastly different from the real deal. The screenshot is beautiful, but it's strongly reminiscent of WoW, and if all they're going to do is try to lure the WoW market, I think they're misled. I really look forward to seeing more about this, though.
