After 13 years, EverQuest is still getting updates. I'd be more amazed if I hadn't written about another update at the beginning of the year. It's looking spry for its age. Its players are also getting a new wardrobe -- something that rejuvenates even the most grizzled warrior. In the latest update, "Hero's Forge", you can get rid of that rusty, blood smeared armor, and swap it out for something sparkly and lovely, or visa versa if that's your thing.
Players who buy the upgrade will get armor based on their preference, like cloth or heavy armor, and will be able to upgrade through drops and achievements. Over 10,000 Hero's Forge items have been added to the game. New lore is also being added, and you can now see some people argue about fantasy fashion. Let us put down our swords and discuss the importance of a good cloak.
You can purchase the Hero's Forge update now in the marketplace, but only for a specific character. Gold members will have to buy it too, but can use their stipend of 500 SC per month to unlock it on all characters.

Back in 1999 the concept of an MMO baffled me and I would have no truck with the genre until several years later. Thankfully, not everyone was as backwards then, or Everquest would not have lasted for the absurdly long time i...
