Even more Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe videos photo

These two new MK vs. DC Universe trailers bring us up to 10 million videos released on the subject. Midway is marketing this game like its life depended on it, and given the financial climate, that's probably not outside the realm of believability.

In any case, we have another "Mash Up" trailer for you, and another video showing off the finishing moves. I think the finisher trailer is definitely worth a glance. It involves Liu Kang and Batman, and it's by far the most stupid video we've seen concerning this game. That's really saying something.

Hit the jump for the vids. Scenes of violence, not suitable for kids, all that legal stuff we feel compelled to say to keep the ESRB from buggering Midway in the arse.

Jesus. I bet, even after the game is released, you'll still get 50 videos a day about it.

Though, props for a pretty cool Batman finisher, Midway.

I know what you mean Pendleton - I have no need to play the game now!

Still seems to me as if the actual game mechanics look robotic and a good bit outdated, i know it has been said before but i think we were all expecting the early build of the game to be improved upon somewhat.

There is no way in hell I would ever play this watered-down crap.

I'll take the money I would have spent on this and use it to import Tatsunoko vs Capcom. You know, the versus game that DOESN'T suck.

I agree with SuperD1984,everything looks pretty clunky and stiff. This game just cant compete with today's in depth, smooth flowing fighting games, despite having the coolest niche ever(sorry Soul Caliber IV,playing as yoda is not cooler than beating superman's head in with batman.)

LOL. Pathetic. MK8 anyone.

So, actually, the game is pretty fun. It certainly is not as fluid as any Namco 3D fighter, which is something Midway should have worked on for this generation, but it's a LOT smoother than the previous 3D MKs were.

As well, the final Boss is not a tank with no weaknesses other than dial-a-combo's. He's a huge, fast character that can be fought, and it's not a drudgery or a complete game shift when you finally get to him, so that's good.

The story mode is a super nerd-gasm for any fan of the MK or DC characters, which I am, so I admit my bias. Still, while Street Fighter 4 will undoubtedly trounce this in the fighting department, the game has tons of personality and fun, and the mechanics are not as stiff as the video's seem to show. I'm honestly smitten. /drool

Strange, the first time that I've really lamented this game not being M-rated was when I saw baraka's fatality. He's so vicious and brutal, and needs to have a finisher to match, IMO.

The animations are jerky and wholly unnatural, the fatalities are lame (Baraka's was awful, awful), and they dumbed down the actual combat.

MK is still dead.

Well those animations are pretty terrible, not to mention the gameplay looks stiff like always.

This game reminds me of potential lost because of some stupid restrictions put on the Devs.

for example, the Batman one would be an awesome finisher if the bats actually picked the victim clean to the bone. Instead since DC wants their heroes to not kill, they changed it to "OMG BATS!!!! GETMEOFFGETEMOFFGETEMOFF!!!!"

The only hope this game has is that it plays well, and considering MK's past, it's in deep trouble.

Liu Kangs was funny, only for the fact that they brought that fatality back from like Mk2.

But ehh....

Any word on wether or not you can use the fatalitys that actually kill on the DC Heros?

Ridiculous. It's like going on a date and the chick is all over you ready to get down and then she says goodnight and shuts the door.

In other words, the gameplay looks like some classic MK fun, while the fatalities make me want to chop my own dick off. Which, if I were in that game, would apparently not be possible. Why, duing a fatality, would Baraka swinging his blades at someone's deads not cut their head off?!??!!

Fuck.
