Fist of the North Star Musou is looking like one of the best games in the Dynasty Warriors series. The graphics are actually good, the setting is unique, and the gameplay promises plenty of person-exploding fun. It's going to be very hard for Omega Force to mess this one up.
Famitsu has posted some close-up renders of the game's playable characters, along with a batch of brand new screenshots. So far, things are looking pretty hot, so hopefully North Star fans will get the one-versus-all brawler they deserve. I haven't seen Fist of the North Star in years ... I must make sure I watch it again before this comes out.

on a related note, i've been wondering lately if the HNK CGI short i saw a little while ago has some connection to this game. download it from the link below and decide for yourselves if you have the time. it's kinda cool for fist fans, but it's not exactly mind blowing stuff, and it's kinda spoilery if you havent watched the first hundred or so eps of the anime series...

Note to self, avoid the FotNS live action movie. Its an awfully woeful mess.
Sarcasm aside, I've never seen a FotNS anime or ever touched a DW game.
Yet, small child me bought and reluctantly played the hell outta the NES Fist of the North Star game.
I'll never forget visiting Toys "R" Us and naively choosing this title based on the box art alone. It looked cool enough to me, I was sold! I snatched the paper slip and raced over to the Toys"R" Us employee in the video game vault box and paid for my new game. I couldn't wait to play it!
Upon completing the first level my illusions of grandeur dwindled. The game was terrible, yet I played it and beat it anyway, over and over again. You see, I wasn't getting a new game anytime soon and I had already beat to death the games I had, so Fist of the North Star was going to have to fill the void.
Silly me, repeated the horrid process again with Last Battle for the Genesis.

Well, maybe it's time, once again, to reawaken my Fist of the North Star experience.

Also I hope they get most of the relevant Nanto generals in there eventually. Just worried the game might end up with a really small cast, since the show is so long. Not asking for the silly second part of the show, but the main 100 episode series being fully covered would be nice. Was kind of dissapointed with DW Gundam when they had so few characters from G-Gundam and Wing, which would have been great playable characters.
considering the pretty obvious arrangement of bosses and sub-bosses in the series, they would be stupid to not capitalise on it. i'd prefer to see them do 3 or maybe four games and cover everything if they aren't going to fit everything into one properly.

The original anime is streaming on 3 websites. Funimation, crunchyroll, and another site(i forget which). It's really a compelling story and the ridiculous scenes of violence are awesome too.
