Even more add-on content planned for Mass Effect 2 photo

If you boot up Mass Effect 2 right now, you'll see a noteworthy message from the Cerberus Daily News on the main menu. (You know, the thing with scrolling text on the right of your screen. That!)

The daily content updates are coming to a close on January 24, excluding a week of posts leading up to "a downloadable content release" and an additional two weeks that lead into Mass Effect 3's launch. So, more add-on content is on the way later this year.

Previously, BioWare talked about DLC bridging ME2 and ME3 -- there's a decent chance this could be that exact content, assuming the studio's plans haven't changed in recent months. Here's hoping for something substantial.

[Thanks, Eric]

Hey, how bout Dragon Age DLC that leads into DA2?

All I know is after playing the Shadow Broker DLC, I better be able to marry liara or something at the end of ME3.
She was my girl in ME1 and I stayed faithful to her in ME2, it'd be nice to destroy the reapers and be able to take a much needed break as shepard.
Hell I'm saving the galaxy for her, because I made a promise.

Man, this just makes me wish I had held out for a game of the year edition of this game with all of the DLC.

I thought BioWare had said that the Shadow Broker DLC was supposed to be bridging the story for ME3. Although, if they've got some more lined up, I certainly won't complain.

Also, I'm kinda with Jordan here.

For what Bioware has priced their DLC, I'm weary. I jumped on the holiday deals just recently, but I can safely say Lair of the Shadow Broker was the only one worth a damn.

Let's not even talk about Dragon Age's DLC...

@ Pugnax,

"I thought BioWare had said that the Shadow Broker DLC was supposed to be bridging the story for ME3."

Right, they said that's the first in a series that will bridge the gap. But, honestly.. it helped bridge the gap between the comic book and ME2 more then anything else.

Yes!!! I'm on my second playthrough right now and I might hold off finishing until this content is released. Or just keep playing and use the new content as an excuse for a third run. God I love this game

Really? Have you ever waited for three games to come out and played them and all the content? It seems like you'd burn out after the first one.

Its a funny idea (if you're being funny), but I'm just wondering if you've actually done this? Like really?

I'm so sold on this after playing through Shadow Broker. I hope Mass Effect 3 is more like Mass Effect 1, though. I want the planet hopping, exploration, opn environments like the Citadel from Mass Effect 1, etc. All of that with the polish of Mass Effect 2.

Fantastic! I bought the dlc before the daily deal, but it was still worth it to me. I'm now doing an insanity run to collect the four missing achievements, (lotsb on insane, beat on insane, paramour, and kasumi stolen memory ((which i didn't have until recently.)))

im at a loss why ppl love this series. Its polarised between extreme shittiness and extreme brilliance, with the dreadful combat weighing the whole experience down. I groan everytime you enter an area and it turns out to be another pew pew shooting gallery. Bioware, your combat system sucks, change it or cut it. incorporate stealth, reduce the emphasise on cover anything but im not getting me3 if its like the shitfest that was me2

Yeah its called Opinions. Plus, one...ok multiple voices saying a game sucks is minscule compared to the thousands of voices loving the game. *Not accurate numbers.

Of course, nobody's forcing you to play Mass Effect games.

Im banking on the next DLC focusing somewhere on a/several Systems Alliance personnel. (Perhaps the Virmire survivor?)

While she is boring, she brings a welcome sense of wonder to the series. She's always constantly questioning things Shepard does, or things she sees, which really helps balance out the complete badass-ery of EVERYONE else in the game (which is one complaint I have about the series - EVERY character's convictions are 100% and almost no one has any doubt).

There's also the fantastical element of wondering what she looks like.

I bought all the DLC because I thought THAT was what would bridge 2 and 3. I'm gonna be pissed if they come out with another "loyalty mission" for 10 dollars which missing it will cause you to miss something important in Mass effect 3.

@ X..3 - You can queue them but you have to do it in realtime. For example say you have one of your people cast lift or singularity. Wait for it to hit then cast warp, which detonates the previous effect.

@ Tubatic - I haven't seen any of the James Bonds either. The damn thing never ends...

And Metal Gear is a boring stealth game with a shitty story.

Also, if you think the combat in Mass Effect 1/2 is just "pew, pew", then I'd have to recommend opening up the abilities wheel and using it for strategy and depth.

as for the DLC content i wonder how will they expand ME2 more? im even surprised they didn't include a new content for ME2 PS3, actually why not add Mass Effect 2 Galaxy as a mission based DLC?

on a unrelated note

why is Dues Ex Human Revolution is not a third person game? i know past 2 games where first person but this fit's perfectly in Human Revolution at least add a option to be able to play third person all throughout.

that would be my favorite game if they implement such options(maybe it has to do with the delay) :)

@ Nzdjh - Yeah, but fans can ruin pretty much anything. Sometimes it's best to ignore them. Tali was my favorite until I saw how Lair of the Shadow Broker plays out with a female Shepard who romanced her in part one. That shit gets deep, especially when she starts talking about kids. I was like, wait...they can do that, can't they? Awesome!

Also, Mass Effect already has witch-fu if you play as an Adept. In the future they have scientific proof of something that used to be called "magic". I found Dragon Age pretty boring, tbh. I'm just not into the medieval stuff.

Tali was probably my favorite squad member in the first game, and I think she (along with pretty much all of the characters) gets even better in the sequel. I wasn't even aware that she had a creepy and obsessed following until fairly recently, and I simply choose not to let it affect me. For what it's worth, probably every female character in every videogame ever made has at least a small creepy fan following.

Garrus was the biggest grower for me, though. I thought he was just the dullest thing ever in the first game, and wanted desperately to see him killed off. Suddenly, in ME2, he's totally badass. Guess all that time spent headshotting mercs had a good effect on him.

Mordin > Tali every time... I dunno, Tali doesn't seem to special to me. Hell, my original romance leaves and Kasumi doesn't really speak up much. I hope they bring Kasumi over to ME3 and not let her be just a DLC character. *Crosses fingers*
Sir Legendhead's Avatar - Comment posted on 01/03/2011 21:43

Ha, yeah. Speaking of ultrabros, I want Kaiden back on my squad in part 3. He and Garrus are my favorite team in the first one. They both have such a stoic, silent demeanor that it's like being accompanied by the secret service. The three of us walk up into the Citadel like Agents in the Matrix.

If I had to pick a favorite, it would probably be him. The guy doesn't get the credit he deserves. Dude has massive, painful migraines due to his outdated L2 implants, yet refuses to downgrade to anything less dangerous or painful because it would compromise his effectiveness in the field. Now that's badass.

Were there Mass Effect 1 DLCs? I know I've played that game from start to finish but I feel like I didn't play that game in it's entirety.

How many DLC's are currently out for ME2? I've never known a game to make DLC's clear. I downloaded a handful from the bioware website but they free and not treated with any registration or ownership control. I'm on my first play through and agree with opinions on both sides of the 'this game is X'. I'm still making up my mind but so far it feels like a big galactic crisis romp with an unspoken side mission of 'who can you have a relationship with'. Also it's hella soporific gameplay. Even the shooty bits. But the characters are good so I'm interested in ME3 and, more immediately, in continuing my current game to it's conclusion.
