If you boot up Mass Effect 2 right now, you'll see a noteworthy message from the Cerberus Daily News on the main menu. (You know, the thing with scrolling text on the right of your screen. That!)
The daily content updates are coming to a close on January 24, excluding a week of posts leading up to "a downloadable content release" and an additional two weeks that lead into Mass Effect 3's launch. So, more add-on content is on the way later this year.
Previously, BioWare talked about DLC bridging ME2 and ME3 -- there's a decent chance this could be that exact content, assuming the studio's plans haven't changed in recent months. Here's hoping for something substantial.
[Thanks, Eric]
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied:
"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
She was my girl in ME1 and I stayed faithful to her in ME2, it'd be nice to destroy the reapers and be able to take a much needed break as shepard.
Hell I'm saving the galaxy for her, because I made a promise.
Also, I'm kinda with Jordan here.
Let's not even talk about Dragon Age's DLC...
"I thought BioWare had said that the Shadow Broker DLC was supposed to be bridging the story for ME3."
Right, they said that's the first in a series that will bridge the gap. But, honestly.. it helped bridge the gap between the comic book and ME2 more then anything else.
Really? Have you ever waited for three games to come out and played them and all the content? It seems like you'd burn out after the first one.
Its a funny idea (if you're being funny), but I'm just wondering if you've actually done this? Like really?
lol
I just like her cause personally, i believe Engineers rock. But if you feel she's boring to you, your opinion.
@X3Ent3nte
Yeah its called Opinions. Plus, one...ok multiple voices saying a game sucks is minscule compared to the thousands of voices loving the game. *Not accurate numbers.
Of course, nobody's forcing you to play Mass Effect games.
@Article
Im banking on the next DLC focusing somewhere on a/several Systems Alliance personnel. (Perhaps the Virmire survivor?)
While she is boring, she brings a welcome sense of wonder to the series. She's always constantly questioning things Shepard does, or things she sees, which really helps balance out the complete badass-ery of EVERYONE else in the game (which is one complaint I have about the series - EVERY character's convictions are 100% and almost no one has any doubt).
There's also the fantastical element of wondering what she looks like.
word? But they're both really good... and available now...
And with games too?
Incredulous face is incredulous. whatever works! :)
@ Tubatic - I haven't seen any of the James Bonds either. The damn thing never ends...
And Metal Gear is a boring stealth game with a shitty story.
Also, if you think the combat in Mass Effect 1/2 is just "pew, pew", then I'd have to recommend opening up the abilities wheel and using it for strategy and depth.
I still haven't even played the main game. :(
lol what an idiot get your head out of your ass please.
as for the DLC content i wonder how will they expand ME2 more? im even surprised they didn't include a new content for ME2 PS3, actually why not add Mass Effect 2 Galaxy as a mission based DLC?
why is Dues Ex Human Revolution is not a third person game? i know past 2 games where first person but this fit's perfectly in Human Revolution at least add a option to be able to play third person all throughout.
that would be my favorite game if they implement such options(maybe it has to do with the delay) :)
Also, Mass Effect already has witch-fu if you play as an Adept. In the future they have scientific proof of something that used to be called "magic". I found Dragon Age pretty boring, tbh. I'm just not into the medieval stuff.
Garrus was the biggest grower for me, though. I thought he was just the dullest thing ever in the first game, and wanted desperately to see him killed off. Suddenly, in ME2, he's totally badass. Guess all that time spent headshotting mercs had a good effect on him.
If I had to pick a favorite, it would probably be him. The guy doesn't get the credit he deserves. Dude has massive, painful migraines due to his outdated L2 implants, yet refuses to downgrade to anything less dangerous or painful because it would compromise his effectiveness in the field. Now that's badass.
How many DLC's are currently out for ME2? I've never known a game to make DLC's clear. I downloaded a handful from the bioware website but they free and not treated with any registration or ownership control. I'm on my first play through and agree with opinions on both sides of the 'this game is X'. I'm still making up my mind but so far it feels like a big galactic crisis romp with an unspoken side mission of 'who can you have a relationship with'. Also it's hella soporific gameplay. Even the shooty bits. But the characters are good so I'm interested in ME3 and, more immediately, in continuing my current game to it's conclusion.
