EVE Fanfest 2013 is sold out. I went last year so I understand why -- this is one of the coolest events in gaming (pun intended). This year 50 percent more tickets were sold than last year, meaning that 1,400 attendees will be storming Reykjavik, Iceland to see CCP Games' latest soon. Panels, parties, tourneys, Icelandic sightseeing and even a pub crawl -- this is an event unlike any other.

This year they're bringing in the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra to perform music from EVE Online. More guests and acts will be announced in the coming weeks.

The theme of this year's event is "Eve: The Second Decade." They'll celebrate the EVE Online: Retribution expansion and the tied-in PS3 FPS Dust 514 there.

Player-created Turks event in FFXIV: Just another reason why I love MMOs

MMOs usually have official "events" that are designed to get players to log in and play after extended periods of disinterest. They tend to involve holiday festivities of some sort, or in the case of some games, they make up ...more
