But seriously, it is bizarre they wouldn't release this world-wide.
Sucks for PoP fans, though. Hopefully Ubi will bring it over for them.
Other then Ubisoft being retarded. They probably figure "Hey. In the US Xbox has sold almost twice as many units as the PS3. There are barely any PS3's in America. In Europe though they are neck and neck in sales, we have a better chance of making money!"
They are French after all, and probably don't realize a worldwide release > a localized release.
I'm not sure I feel I'm missing much aside from the HD, I can just pop in the games on my GameCube again.
Let me tell you something ... EUROPE STILL DOESNT HAVE CASTLE CRASHERS ON PSN!
It amuses me that they are charging for a re-release simply to up the resolution and maybe add some AA and AF. Those are standard PC features.
And having to use 3 discs.
And having it break down on you in the middle of a session.
It might, but if it takes any optimizing what-so-ever they won't bother. The God of War "HD" releases are only 720p native I believe.
"As it stands, though, Europe is getting Prince of Persia Trilogy, not us."
When you say "us" it comes across as an assumption that all people on destructoid are in the USA. Hate to nitpick but that got my goat for some reason.
But I think my purse isn't... at least these HD remakes (God of War, ICO & SoC, PoP) aren't that expensive.
Put yourself in the shoes of a European gamer; we don't get all the games you do. And sometimes, when we do get them, it's ages after you do. For example, Japan and America get Kirby's Epic Yarn in two weeks. When does Europe get it?
Next fucking year.
That's quite an assumption on your part that he is presuming to speak for all of Destructoid's readers.
But hey, what would we know, right? :-P
Yet another must have to add to the pile before Christmas. I'm dreading looking at my bank statement after this little lot.
Europe on a roll at the mo. 14½ - 13½ and now this.
Eurrrrrrrohhhhh!!!!
Not really dude. The word "us" is a catchall word unless (in this case) other regions are specifically mentioned. The only other region mentioned other than Europe is north america so your attempt to correct me has failed.
Have a great day.
And if you don't already own it, only £3 from CEX.
Your objection borders into the question of the ideal vs. the real, which I don't care to patronize at this time. Your attempt to correct my correction which was in fact correct has failed. Have a great day, old chap!
Sounds like a great deal to me, but I already have them.
"Most of Sony's shit is released first on Europe, they get a more complete Playstation Magazine, get better PSN services and, overall, better things."
You must be joking. Better PSN services?
Games are usually released here a week or more after the US relase. Castle Crashers hasnt even been released in Europe yet.
We cant rent any movies, we dont have Japanese import ps1 games plus everything costs alittle more.
I usually bought all my stuff from the US-shop cause it got there early and was cheaper. Now i cant anylonger because it seems they have put a restriction up for other countries. I only get a error message telling me im not connected to the internet.
If this game costs £29.99 in Sweden, that will be amazing. Standardprice for a game here is 90$ wich is insane. Im guessing this will be more like 60$ though.
I usually import games from US instead, even with the shippingcosts i can get 2 games from US cheaper then one game here. Insane.
But yeah.. Europe has it better
To be fair to him though, unless you're desperate for the 3Dness, may as well get the cheaper 3D version and hook up a PS3 pad via bluetooth if desired.
