Europe gets a DS cooking game: Cooking Guide photo

I know I'm going to catch "get back in the kitchen" comments for this, but I have to admit it — I like cooking. I decided to learn to like it when I realized I was thirty years old and likely to starve to death if I didn't teach myself. For that reason, Nintendo's new DS game, Cooking Guide: Can't Decide What to Eat actually appeals to me. It's a shame it's a European release, because I might have bought it if I could have read it.

Rather than challenge players in mini-games Cooking Mama-style, Cooking Guide is an actual how-to game, guiding players through 250 recipes from around the world. Dishes are broken down into groups you can search, including a calorie search for people watching their weight. What can I say? I think it's neat. I'm a woman. It's genetic.

Cooking Guide comes out in Europe on July 20th. Check out more screens at Nintendic if you're a dork like me and you enjoy educational games.

Actually I like cooking also.(As most fat people do) But I almost never have the right ingredients or equipment. Never the less this looks like it might be more convenient than using a recipe book.

Uh, you are writing for a gaming blog here, correct? Surely you understand that Europe includes two countries whose first language is English, the very one which you're using to write this post?

I loves the fooding.

I too had to learn how to cook when I got my apartment. Easy Mac only takes you so far, and eating out all the time 1. is expensive and 2. makes you kind of sick after a while.

Colette! Get yo pregnant, bare-foot ass back in the kitchen and build me a cake! With strawberries!

Shoot. now I'm a chauvinistic pig. I didn't really mean it! I'm not really a chauvinistic pig! I like treating ladies right! I open car doors and let them get higher paying positions than me! It's ok! I'll vote for Hillary.

Crap, this isn't washing off the PC guilt..... Here: to make it up to you, I'll send you a cookie. With macadamia nuts. and toffee bits.

Also, I can see myself using it a lot. I'm quite fond of cooking, bu t I hate having to annotate recipes by hand. Yes, I'm bit lazy and not lazy at the same time.

Gah. I hope there are simpler (ingredient-wise) recipes in this DS cooking guide. Where the heck would I normally get octopus? XD

I saw this game on one of the countdown timers for the next big Nintendo release..... I couldn't believe this is what's following up Mario Kart...

don't care if it's an old post. I must comment on "it's a shame it's a European release, because I might have bought it if I could have read it."

--------O_O----------
the worst is that you're talking english.
get a map an encyclopedia... whatever but be less ....hum more cultivated.

Anyway, this game is good ! really efficient when you don't know what to cook or if you can't cook. It's really easy to follow. I must be picky, but a lot of dishes didn't LOOK good to me ( i didn't try them).

I think we need to bring more ideas for this purpose. Involvement of young people can be handy in this regard. I am happy to find a good post here. Thank you
