Eternal Sonata PS3 comes out tomorrow, with enhanced story and more photo

Eternal Sonata, despite a few elements that I wished could have been a little better, was one of my favorite RPGs of last year, so hearing that the PS3 version would feature goodies such as new playable characters and new outfits was cool ... but not quite cool enough to make me go out and buy the game a second time. However, the  US localization specialist, Stephanie Fernandez, has shared some new details about the game with PlayStation blog, and it seems the story itself has undergone some modifications:

"When I started working on Eternal Sonata for the PS3, I was pleased to find out there would be additional story material incorporated into the game that is unique to the platform. I had always felt there were some aspects of the story which might be a little too vague for anyone who didn’t have the advantage of the background knowledge that I had about the story. But now there are scenes that give the game player a little more insight; scenes that reveal a bit more general information about the concept behind the story and more specific details regarding character motivations."

I have to admit, that does pique my interest, along with the new dungeons. I probably won't jump at the bit and buy it immediately as there's so much other good stuff out there right now (I'm frozen in the clutches of Dead Space!), but I think I may want to pick it up and play through for the new stuff in the long run. How about you?

[Thanks, Joe]

I played the demo and it wasn't all that bad, maybe I will keep an eye out for a used copy as I don't think this is a release purchase title for.....Also, I'm already into my 2nd run of Dead Space!

I'm getting pretty RPG starved so i'll definately pick it up, but as of now i'm only on chapter 9 of dead space and my first playthrough and i'm sure there will be more to follow so i might hold off. Then again dead space should only be played at night alone so i guess i do need somethign to fill in those daylight hours...

Quality RPG. Flat out beautiful and has a great score, PS3 owners who missed out should for sure look into it.

Is the new stuff going to be DLCed for 360? For free? That'd be cool.

Interesting that they'd change that much from one system to the other as these changes sound pretty noteworthy. I've heard weird things about this games story, but overall good things about the game as a whole. Perhaps they heard some of the criticism and thought they could offer a little bit more to get the people like me off the fence. In any case, its pretty cool that they seem to care enough to add more to it.

I really liked the 360 version, but it was kinda ruined by the totally 'WTF?'ending. Might pick this up if I can find it cheap just to excuse another play.

PS3 has to stop having so many awesome games. My funds are running low over here!

Ok, if this was originally a 360 exclusive game, why the hell is the PS3 getting a better version of the game without changing the originally exclusive 360 version? Me thinks this console exclusivity stuff is getting out of hand.
