eScrolls: Take your tomes of Skyrim lore on the go photo

I have yet to delve into the immense, dragon-filled realm of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, because I just don't have another 100 hours free to spend in a massive Bethesda RPG. For those Dovahkiin who like to peruse the local bookshelves to add some more background to their tale, but don't want to confined to reading them on just their rig, there is a better solution.

A Dragonborn literati known as Capaneus has put together a collection of the literary works found in Skyrim into a single file that can be uploaded to Kindles or various other eReaders. If you want to take The Last Scabbard of Akrash or The Legend of Red Eagle with you while on your morning commute or to your favorite pretentious coffee shop, then look no further.

[Thanks, Gantz]

I wanted so bad to add this to my iTouch, but I want to discover the books through the game organically, at least as many of them as I can. I'll probably read as many as I can find in the game then add this for the rest.

Cool, I might peruse these when I am done with A Song of Ice and Fire. Twelve years or so.

This is pretty cool since the last thing I wanna do when I'm playing skyrim is be reminded on all the reading I'm not doing. Instead I can read these in between play sessions while I'm pretending to do that other reading.

I never read any of the books come across. I always take them and store them in my house, so I can eventually read them. I may want to get this.

100 hours is pretty conservative. I'm at 62 and all I've done for the past few days is go around discovering locations and running from bears. 260+ found so far. (Locations, not bears.)

Oh, and my favorite in game book so far is The Cabin in the Woods. Spooky!

Thats so Damn badass. I'd love to do this! "The Real Barenazarth" Was an interesting read. Every book you actually find an interest in keeps your interest too! I've found myself in the middle of battle stopping to read a book.

@HEL105
Lol at running away from bears.

They better not let Bethesda hear about it. They invented the word ''Scrolls'' and wont like someone else using it. lol

My wood elf archer is great for sneaking around and shooting people in the chest, not so handy when I come around a hill and there are two cave bears staring me in the face. Forget dragons, bears are the real menace in that game.

There's a "Choose your own adventure" book somewhere in Skyrim. I'm always impressed by the attention Bethesda give to the book in TES games.

@HEL105
Forget bears, it's Giants. I've seen them wipe out entire Imperial camps, kill dragons without breaking a sweat and chase me for miles. Even at level 30 my plan to kill them is spamming fireball and praying I don't run out of stamina.

I can usually use dance around the giants and whittle them down with arrows, but the freakin mammoths almost always catch up to me from behind while I'm not paying attention to them and then either hit me a few times with their tusks and kill me or block my way so that the giants can splatter me.

I don't find the Giants difficult, I use de Wabbajack from a nice distance....Bears on the other hand are always a bitch to kill.

Stealth + archery makes Skyrim too easy of a game. You can take giants out in just a few hits and they don't even know you're there.

"The Real Barenziah" has been a good read. I followed it up with "the Biography of Barenziah" and it made for a few hearty laughs.

Who else LOVES the bookshelf mechanic?!

YES. I still don't have it but considering Skyrim will have included lots of previous Elder Scrolls books, this is still pretty neat. I've been wanting to read through them all for awhile.

I am that person.

Don't feel bad. Out of the egregious amount of time I've logged in Skyrim that I will not disclose (read: too much) I've spent at least a quarter of it sitting around reading books/delving into the most inhospitable places in search of more stuff to read (because treasure is fucking heavy.)

There are lots of books in Skyrim. Get excited.
