Thanks Jim :D
These issues will be fixed soon and it will emerge as the top RPG of the decade. They spent too much time and money for any other outcome. Cartoony, simplistic Torchlight can't compete. Torchlight is not Diablo competition, it is Fate competition.
Is your friend a moronic, opinionless husk of a zombie? Sounds like you need new friends. Ones that aren't just scenery.
I don't think anyone said you couldn't like both, but considering if I were to get this I'd definitely be playing the SP and there would be a possibility I wouldn't be able to do that with having to be connected all the time.
I don't think I'm going to have to worry about that when it comes to Torchlight II. :)
You heard it here first folks, only 1/5 (not even) of the decade has gone by, but somehow Diablo is going to beat all future RPG games! Which is funny because its not even an RPG!
It's sad how hype can blind some people.
I just logged in now and it's fine.
On all seriousness, get a freakin job people. I got up this morning and had no issue logging on.
Maybe we have jobs, perhaps that's how we can afford $60 games. I may just sound like another entitled gamer here but I like being able to play my game when I buy it.
the fact that they haven't introduce any new races for Starcraft II(over 10 year it's still the same shit with minor updates) no lan.
always on drm, countless WOW expansion packs.
and now this, but it's okay it's "Blizzard" since they always make Masterpiece games!!!!!!
Stop looking for a way to act hipster about a video game.
That about sums up some posts here.
Was going to pick it up later this week but they've got me thinking I should wait a month.
I wasn't aware "growing up" meant laying down taking shit without fighting back. Pathetic, gutless people like you are not "adults".
Games not working when I buy them, and the inconvenience of all the anti-consumer practices the game industry has embraced these last few years has convinced me not to buy any more new games until I see an improvement.
That doesn't include indie game. I've found more engaging experiences in low to no budget indies then I have with almost any AAA game to this year. I've also been able to buy more games this year then I've been able to in a long time buying indies.
That's EXACTLY what I want for Diablo III and Starcraft II for that matter. The way they keep their prices up excludes people with a more casual interest in their games, who don't care about multiplayer or dedicating months of their life to it.
@glutto: There's immaturity on both sides here, to be certain, but in this case I think most of the immaturity is coming from the anti-Blizzard people. There's a lot of gloating about this coming from people with no intention of buying the product anyway. Sure, be happy that you avoided problems that you wanted to avoid, but why must that entail attempts to insult people who encounter those problems?
The downtime sucks, but I've loved what I've played of the game so far.
You've misinterpreted my post. See my earlier one in this thread, where I said "Blizzard can fuck right off. Runic Games already has my money."
The only reason Blizzard killed offline and LAN play, and force online verification, is to secure their new for-profit auction. They'll make a 15% killing by doing absolutely nothing. There is no other reason.
And I bought Torchlight, I pre-bought Torchlight II, and I bought Diablo III. It's nice to have a job and be able to afford games that I want to play :D
@MRR - explain exactly how my last post is trolling. You disagree that I want to play Diablo III offline, fine. But how is requesting an offline mode trolling? GTFO, fanboy.
Sorry about that. Totally with you on, Diablo III seems designed to be profit-friendly not player-friendly. Cutting out modding is related to that, too, I think. They want you to have to pay for any new content.
So all of that talk of this online-only DRM saving the game from cheaters who ruin things for everyone else is already right out the fucking window.
Of course it's a cat and mouse game and of course there will be a wave of bans followed by new versions of the bots/hacks but the point is that paying customers who just want to play offline single player are now getting team-fucked at both ends.
