Wouldn't that be Epic?
Right now, Warren Spector's new baby, Epic Mickey, is a Wii-only title. It's coming out on the Wii because the game requires motion-sensing tech for the controls. Or so says Spector. But now that the PS3 and Xbox 360 will have motion-sensing tech with the Move and Kinect additions, the game could come out for those consoles.
Spector told AtomicGamer: "Before Move and Kinect I probably would have said no, because the game is built around gesturing. Now, however, there's no reason technologically why we couldn't."
But. BUT!
"That decision is really above my pay grade, and no one's asked me for a port. I've been a Nintendo fan a long time, and I've been pretty open about the fact that the Zelda games are some of my favorite of all time. So we're a Wii exclusive and I'm happy about that."
Here's my thing, though: I've played Epic Mickey, and I totally could see a version that does not require waggle at all. Remember all those lovely Disney 2D classics? Those were delicious, much like Epic Mickey's 2D sections are. Just make us a new sidescrolling game, man. It would sell!

Is that enough reason for a person to care?
Warren Spector (Deus Ex creator), Mickey Mouse (you may have heard of him), interesting gameplay mechanics and a wealth of Disney material to draw from.
I'd love to see the game on 360/PS3... I like my Wii i just can't stand the resolution when playing it on my HDTV.
Can't wait to see how its does on the Wii!
I'm really getting peeved by all this back-peddling talk when it comes to Wii releases.
People have to stop being graphics whores. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy good graphics, but if that's all there is to a game, it's not worth ANYONE'S time.
I love the art style of No More Heroes 2... but seeing a game of that resolution on a 1080p 37" tv makes for uncomfortable viewing (small text, blurry images).
@Toadofsky: HD isn't a technology like Nuclear Fission...it doesn't need grand ethical debates prior to its use...it's a technology that has been available for 15 years at least on PC monitors, and should be the standard by now. That's why it should be in HD. That said, if you want to play it in HD, check out Dolphin.
The fact is, HD is also pretty stinking expensive, not to mention develop for.
While I'll admit, I was disappointed the Wii didn't go HD 1080 or whatever, I was more interested in the games, and if they were good, because in the end, that's all that matters. WE'RE NOT GOING TO CARE ABOUT THE GRAHPICS FROM TODAY'S GAMES 10 YEARS FROM NOW, I have no doubts of that.
I'm still calling it for graphics whores, even if they redo the game, I don't see how much more it'll make the game any better. The only thing will be the physics, and the environments and creatures, that's it. I don't really care what's going on under the hood, because after 10 or so minutes of playing a game on ANY HD system, you're wrapped up in the game, you're not paying attention to the minute pointless details of a game. And if you do, that's fine, whatever floats your boat.
@ Tony:
Probably the reason behind it, is because of idiot "journalists" that wanna see everything in 1080p, and nothing lower than that. Instead of focusing on whether it's actually FUN to play?
Because people who have played it say that it's fun and nice to look at and the guy who is making it has made other good games.
If you're unfamilar with Warren Spector's games, I believe the original Deus Ex is available on Steam. Download and play it.
Warning: After Deus Ex, Bioware RPGs may seem quaint and child-like.
@Tony Ponce: That's an interesting fact, i honestly though it was all about the motion control but i also thought they aimed to have a more receptive audience too.
Anyways, day fucking 1. Warren Spector + Disney nostalgia = cream in my jeans!
It's not just the graphics - trophies are important to me (for the gameplay benefits, not epeen), and Wii's motion controls aren't accurate enough to be fun to use in a 'core' game IMO.
It could be done in the same vein as Galaxy 2 and look gorgeous, but somehow they screwed it up. I'd love an HD release- it'll give them a chance to try on the visuals.
Those same people will end up buying the next over hyped M rated HD game thrown at them...
I understand your point of view...I probably don't fit the typical description of a graphics whore...I LOVE 8-bit games and that artstyle...in fact, I'd like to see more of it. At the same time, I'm pissed when I can play games like Galaga on my PC and it looks pristine in all its pixelated glory, but the copy I bought on XBLA ages ago looks like I'm playing it on the Wii at 480p.
So, I don't expect them to make the games more realistic or fancy, but I would like my games to look cleaner than they do in these instances...the same goes for any Wii game in my library...I'd much rather play them in Dolphin...it makes me weep when I see SMG running at 720p, and Zelda:WW is still a contender for most gorgeous game ever at 1600x1200, and that's based on 2001/2002 technology.
Everyone already talked about Warren Spector. His games are: Deus Ex, Ultima Underworld series, Wing Commander series, Thief series, Ultima 6 and 7 (the best Ultima game), System Shock and Crusaders: No Remorse. That is some resume there.
Im srsly disappointed with the things I 've seen with the title for now.Its the man who made System Shock 2 and Deus Ex.
I dont have a Wii yet,but I can buy it just for this.(Never was a huge Nintendo fan). But for Warren Spector's game,I would buy.
