I'll buy it, even if the chicks never touch me again.
Well not really, but yeah.
Unless that was intentionally ironic.
In which case, touché, motherfucker.
Which ended in some crazy shit with sportscaster Al Michaels being traded to NBC for Oswald rights.
from Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oswald_the_Lucky_Rabbit#Return_to_Disney_ownership:_the_Al_Michaels_trade
In February 2006, a number of minor assets including the rights to Oswald were acquired by the Walt Disney Company from NBC Universal as part of a deal that sent sportscaster Al Michaels from Disney’s ABC and ESPN to NBC Sports. At the time, ABC had lost its contract for NFL broadcast rights, and despite recently signing a long-term contract with ESPN, Michaels was interested in rejoining broadcast partner John Madden at NBC for the Sunday night package. Universal transferred the copyright in a cartoon character to Disney, and in exchange, Disney released Michaels from his employment contract, allowing him to sign with NBC.
So yeah, Disney wants to use this imaginary thing they traded a human being for.
Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, and Rayman will rise up and wreck havoc on their developers for not making any games as of late starring them. Oh yes, just wait...
"Story sounds more straight-forward and bland than Spector had implied. Hmm..."
I'm beginning to agree.
Maybe, but a general synopsis isn't going to reveal much of anything so it's still hard say. Also, it's more important how you tell the story, rather than just the story itself. Shadow of the Collosus had a simple story, but the way it was executed really made the difference.
I also thought the same thing as Double J. Sounds like a CYOA to me too. I used to love those as a kid, but I always cheated because I consistently chose the wrong paths.
Agreed.
My Enthusiasm for the game has REALLY died down since screenshots started popping up.
The concept art just looked so god damn awesome. A twisted nightmarish disney; it was like american mcgee's alice all over again.... but the screenshots... not so much... i guess they just seemed too vivid and colorful; it was still twisted, but not really all that nightmarish. The concept art gave me one impression of the game, but the screenshots make me feel as though they will not match those impressions.
Absolutely. I wasn't making any final judgments, but to be fair, Shadow of the Colossus didn't release a Junior novelization. I think the game has a lot of potential and I support the "advertised concept" behind it. I was just voicing a shared concern that what could be a thoughtful, engaging, and daring re-imagining of a familiar icon, might end up being everything it was trying to distance itself from (i.e. an unimaginative cash-in wearing a clever disguise).
