Do you live in the Los Angeles area? Are you excited about Gears of War 2? Do you have nude pics of Cliffy B taped over your bed? If you answered yes to these questions then this is the event for you!
Tomorrow night (11/6), the GameStop at Universal City Walk in Los Angeles will be hosting a huge launch party for the highly anticipated Xbox 360 exclusive Gears of War 2. In attendance will be designer Cliff Bleszinski (who will also be signing autographs), Xbox royalty Major Nelson, and Gears of War voice acting stars John DiMaggio (Marcus Fenix), Lester "Rasta" Speight (Augustus Cole) and Carlos Ferro (Dominic Santiago). As you can tell, this is going to be an incredible party.
Most importantly, the DtoidLA gang will be there! The festivities start at 9:00 p.m. so keep an eye out if you decide to attend. Besides the Gears of War 2 people, there will be an in-store tournament, free merchandise, and the promise of celebrity appearances (if freakin’ BENDER is not good enough for you).
There will be midnight launch parties all over the world for people that don’t live near Hollywood, so no need to scream and knock all the stuff off your desk if you can’t make it. Although I can pretty much guarantee your event won’t nearly be as cool as ours. I’m just sayin’ ...

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Also, nice pun.
Oh and there might be some free shit too but I'll be all over that before any customers can get their grubby paws on it.
There's gotta be some perks to the job, right?
The people there aren't douchebags like at Citywalk, they have more knowledgable people(read: they don't have 'pretty' girls for show who don't know the difference between Gears of War and God of War) but because it's a small suite it doesn't have launch parties.
That said, *ponder* I might be inclined to go to Citywalk for this event, even though having hated GoW1. I like gamercentric events. Lining up for midnight releases makes me very happypants.
