This past Friday I moved offices and finally got the chance to hang up my Zelda history poster that I got from Club Nintendo. Instantly one of my co-workers started humming the Zelda theme, and it basically went around the office like a virus. I tell this story to illustrate how iconic the music behind the Zelda games is, and hopefully emphasize how cool it is to be able to download the entire Twilight Princess soundtrack for free over at Zelda Informer. That's 183 tracks taken straight from the game and its trailers.
The site, which talks way too much about Zelda for any sane individual, has just opened up their music section and is planning on putting up the soundtracks for every Zelda game at two week intervals. Next on the list is Ocarina of Time and then A Link to the Past. I'm definitely looking forward to Ocarina as it had some of the best music in the series. I'm also hoping that in the very near future they put everything in a single downloadable file, because it sucks individually.
And just to stir up the comments: Twilight Princess is a good game. Stop hating.
Update: You can download it in one big pack now. Have fun!

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I'm actually partial to Majora's Mask and Link's Awakening.
Anyhow, woo! Soundtrack is excellent.
Majora's Mask sucks because it's not enough like Ocarina of Time
Wind Waker sucks because it isn't enough like Ocarina of Time, and it is too cartoony.
Twilight Princess sucks because it's too much like Ocarina of Time, and it's too realistic.
Skyward Sword sucks because it is too much...............IT'S NO EXACTLY LIKE OCARINA OF TIME!!!
TP definitely had some good music...but is this legal? >_>
But yeah, Zelda fans are the worst games fans in the world, except for Sonic fans. Too much nostalgia.
No offence of course to those that always disliked OoT. At least you guys had an excuse.
@Razak and SuperDance
Oh but don't worry my fellow Twilight Princess fans as a new game is coming out soon. Therefore Twilight Princess will be recognised by all the Zelda fans as the best game in the series that no one appreciated at the time of release and Skyward sword will be the next one that they all pretend doesn't exist until that gets a sequel.
And the cycle continues.
Why does every Zelda post have to degenerate into which one everyone thinks is the best? GTFO with that shit. Everyone knows the best Zelda game is the lastest one to come out. /End-of-discussion.
Link's Awakening is just proof that handheld versions of console games can be as great as or even superior to their stationary brethren. Plus Ballad of the Windfish is the best. Period.
Oh, and I've had the Twilight Princess soundtrack on my playlist for at least two years. Yay for GameRips.
"Twilight Princess is still my favorite Zelda game. I don't care what anybody says."
I agree 100%, hands down my favorite zelda game to date. I loved the art direction they took with it. Sorta iffy on whether or not I'll end up a fan of skyward swords art style yet but I haven't met a Zelda game I haven't liked (except the second one..... and maybe the one on the CDi)
The opening theme has made me come very close to tears. Scary close.
Also, 183 tracks. That's a lot of tracks.
Also Majora's mask and Ocarina of Time had the best soundtracks!
You can find the full Wind Waker soundtrack with a quick google search. The one I downloaded was just one big file, no torrents.
EXACTLY. ZREO's work is absolutely amazing.
:P
I'd ask if this is legal, but I don't think Dtoid would post something that wasn't, right?
p.s. fav game is majoras mask. twlight princess was good but i miss the happy masks
Skyward Sword looks pretty cool. I'm still a bit iffy about the art style; it looks good overall, but the moblins, man! The moblins! Then again, I was iffy about Wind Waker's art style, and I love it now, so I'll probably learn to love it. Also Link's beetle falcon thingy looks to be great.
Good stuff there! Some of it is unnecessary (ex: I don't need the music for when I pick up Rupees), but there's some good memories associated with a lot of these tunes!
The soundtrack, though, especially the songs in the wolf parts, was/were the best part. So this is joyous news.
AlttP basically had 6 or so tracks and half of them were awful.
Yeah, only old stuff from my childhood was good! Nothing newer can ever be any good! Down with new stuff!
Sorry, no, TP had a fantastic soundtrack that was easily as good or better than OoT. Deal with it nostalgia whore.
