Entire Famicom collection going for only 650,000 yen! photo

Here's a story for all of you collectors: if you happen to have a spare 650,000 yen lying around ($6,500), then you can buy yourself all 1,051 Famicom cartridges. Of course, this'll require you to travel to the Mandrake's headquarters, the "Mandrake Complex." This, of course, will require you to defeat 8 bosses and use their powers to get inside the building.

Once you're inside, and you've defeated the giant lizard, and found that your princess is in another castle, you'll have to somehow convey to the clerk that you would like to purchase the immense collection sitting in the display window. But, considering you managed to make your way to the Mandrake Complex and Japan all on your own, I think this shouldn't be too hard.

Many people who pass by the Mandrake Complex stop for a few minutes, especially with friends or loved ones to reminisce about games they used to own or how they'd love to buy the whole collection.

So, how would you like to own every Famicom game ever released in stores?

If someone would kindly lend me 6500 dollars, I'll just right ahead and buy all these games.

If I had that much money laying around, not knowing what to do with, I would DEFINATELY get this!

Okay, someone from Dtoid HAS to invest in this and write an EPIC blog.

Chad, Dyson, Colette, Topher, and Stella, I'm looking at you guys.

Oh haha ender_x, is that the sort of humor they're teaching at your vastly superior schools? Glad we at least continue to dominate in that category.

I'm in Tokyo right now. JPY1,000 is approximately US$11.00 right now, so JPY650,000 is more like US$7,300.00 right now, like ender_x said.

The exchange rate really bites when the price tag is that high.

Education is a joke in most Western countries. The idea of a calssic scholar is completely forgotten. You are taught only what you need to know to go to your desk and write on your paper and get the paycheck that will feed you so that you have just enough and no more than is necessary, energy so that you can work and get your paycheck (and pay that million dollar debt off slowly).

@ender x, Coldbrand, Orao

I'm an American studying abroad in Scandinavia. I hate to break it to you all, but the academics are just about the same.

The standard of living is also identical.

Wow. I wonder if they'll sell better in a brick and mortar versus an eBay auction?

The Mandrake stores are actually pretty easy to find. I found them thanks to Danny Choo's website.

Get thee to Nakano Broadway

Thankfully while you're there buying all those fabulous Famicom carts you can also buy some nekkid Chun Li resin statues and tentacle rape porn so you won't feel like the trip is entirely wasted.
