I think I probably fall into the category of "casual" gamer by the standards of many of you, but thats only due to time restraints - I love games as much as the next person on here.
My favourite kind of game is most definately the RPG, particularly the Final Fantasy series (I'll probably get called a fanboy, although I'm not) and also Lost Odyssey and Mass Effect, which I believe are two outstanding titles for the 360. I've also got a slightly unhealthy obsession with the Elder Scrolls series.
Closely followed is probably the strategy and sim game genre. I absolutely love C&C, particularly Red Alert 2, as well as the Age of Empires series. I've loved Sim City games since I was quite young, and more recently some of the 'Tycoon' titles. I also enjoyed old Bullfrog games such as Theme Hospital and Dungeon Keeper (sadly I don't seem to be able to get them to work on my current PC).
I'm also a fan of FPSs, and am currently sinking endless hours into COD4, and trying to complete Rainbow Six Vegas before I move onto the second one.
I love the Grand Theft Auto franchise, with San Andreas and GTA4 being two of my favourite games ever.
All in all, I'm probably a pretty main-stream gamer, but I hope that this community can help me widen my horizons in regards to the games I play, and point me to new avenues that I haven't particularly explored before.
