- Re: The Daily Hotness: Who watches the Watchmen?
Meh, as an adaptation of the book I absolutely hated it, as a movie I still think it was only ok.
I had a lot of problems with some of the design choices, why show Manhattan's cock the entire movie, when I'm pretty sure the only time we see it in the book is when he reappears (I might be wrong on this, but that panel is stuck in my head). Manhattan's voice was way off, he needed to sound more God-like. A number of the dates with Manhattan's relationship got changed for no fucking reason. (Gf of 11 years? It was 9 57-66, which had no reason to be changed and was as easy as looking at the comic to get right.)
I always liked the original ending to Watchmen, so the new Dr. Manhattan thing bothered me, did anyone else feel a distinct change in the movie after that point? I could go on and on, but for something that would go through the trouble of re-creating a scene shot for shot they took a lot of unneccessary liberites with the source material. ... view replies
