Holy Jimminy Soulja-Boy Christmas. Now this project is totally bananas, and not just because it features Master Chief doing a multi-hit super combo on Mega Man X. What's really insane is that Card Sagas Wars, a presumably fan made game, actually looks good. With the exception of a few crappy backgrounds, this thing looks even better than Jump Ultimate Stars, the huge Manga cross-over game produced by Nintendo themselves.
Hit the jump for my initial findings on Card Sagas Wars and it's potential answers to all of life's questions.
Dtoider MechaMonkey today posted his second installment of his I AM ERROR feature. Today's focus was on Lakitu and his role in the Mario series. At the end of the post, he threw in this epic M.U.G.E.N. video that I had just had to share with you all. Yes, that is Lakitu, the turtle like creature in the flying cloud that throws Spinies. Check him out as he fights Evil Ryu, Evil Ken, and some guy named Dragon Claw.
This was created by KoopaKoot who has a ton of M.U.G.E.N. videos in his profile. Check out some of the other Lakitu battles after the jump.
This video will change your life. Basically, it's a beatboxer doing the Mario castle theme song. And by beatboxer, I mean a crazy Japanese guy on crack making monkey noises. Lovely sister site, Japanator, has more details on this ... singer.
Strictly speaking, he’s a beatboxer, but like none that you have ever heard before. He doesn’t really do the whole “beat” thing so much as make all kinds of crazy noise with his mouth. Usually rather high pitched noise. Fast high pitched noise. He’s very experimental and influenced by various heavy metal groups like Iron Maiden, Slayer and Black Sabbath instead of a bunch of hip-hop.
Total of 6 videos for this edition of Weekend Destructainment. First video after the jump shows off a kid destroying In the Groove with his robot legs. Next, real life Nintendogs and Mario Kart on a fake Nintendo DS. After that, an episode of the Super Mario Bros 3 cartoon. Followed by another awesome M.U.G.E.N battle with Peter Griffin. Lastly, a video that has nothing to do video games at all.
... and from time to time this makes me a little late on trends in the world. M.U.G.E.N. is something that I have totally missed the bus on ... by eight full years. No, I am not talking about Honda's tuning division, I am talking about the game engine. Wikipedia describes it as such:
"M.U.G.E.N is a free 2D fighting game engine designed by Elecbyte, written in C with the Allegro library. The engine allows for anyone to create characters, background stages and other game objects through interpreted text files, graphics, and sound compilation."
Now, I may not have any idea what that means, but I want it bad. A special thanks goes out to JudgeSpear for giving us great video footage. Be sure to check out our previous coverage and find out just how dumb and out of the loop I am. Here, here, and here, over here, and man do I feel dumb.
To celebrate the peculiar cultural phenomena that is Thanksgiving (Why the hell do we eat these flavorless dry birds in unison? The pilgrims and whole wild turkey rumor is an elaborate ploy by the National Turkey Federation lobbyists! Lies!) I've collected a sampling of five fine video clips featuring these disgusting members of the fowl family. Their only saving grace is the fact that they legitimately cause sleepiness, which is exactly what you want when visiting family. Eat a small portion and you'll be able to sneak right past them when they hit the sofa. But enough, watch Wolverine vs. the Thanksgiving turkeys! Four more random turkey related videos follow:
"I joke, my mother in law actually makes a pretty mean turkey. My family on the other hand ... that's a different story. Cubans don't know what a turkey is, we try to cook it like a pig and bitch..."...
We command thy jaw to drop! Witness in utter disbelief as Godzilla destroys his way through Super Mario Brothers World 1-1 and whoops other NES characters into 1,000 hit combo pulp. To be clear, neither of these are fake flash movies -- you can play this at home tonight with MUGEN. Just check our previous coverage on how and where you can find it, and what you will be doing all weekend. Capcom, you missed the boat. [Via TheLastBoss]
In the past year Street Fighter has repeatedly trashed Mario's crib, and finally we have some revenge. In this video both Mario and Luigi defend their homeland against Ryu and Ken -- will the result be a final R.I.P. for the Mario brothers? Or will they make Bowser soup out of Street Fighter has-beens? Two rounds is all it takes for the combo carnage to determine a winner.

Destructoid is lucky to have some really talented readers. We recently received an email from Vijay, who's not only a big MUGEN fan but he's PUT HIMSELF IN MUGEN. Check out the attached gangsta video and rip at your face in jealously. How'd he do it? Vijay says...
I shot in progressive scan in canon elura mini-dv camcorder (it would be best to try and stay in the same relative distance to the camera the whole time)
Captured video in pinnacle studio
Exported frames in adobe premiere (you could capture in this too)
Cropped, resized, rotated, centered, rotoscoped and made and applied palettes in paint shop pro (3.11 and 7)
Edited all the programming files in notepad or wordpad
Assembled all in the mugen character making programs
Did trial and error until it all looked ok and that’s about it!
Produced in the awesome fighting game MUGEN, this player pitted Movie Cammy, Super Cammy, Street Fighter Alpha Cammy, and cute whittle Cammy X against each other in arian valley girl battle royal. Unfortunately no clothes come off, but you could say there's a lot of leg action everywhere. If you'd like to try this at home check out Destructoid's huge Mugen archives with tips on where to go and more ridiculous movies like this one.
