Win Dante's Inferno prizes by indulging in a sin! photo

It's a Dante's Inferno mega giveaway of extreme awesomeness this week! Thanks to AttentionUSA and Electronic Arts, we're giving away a bunch of Dante's Inferno-themed prizes this week -- 19 prizes, to be exact! Up for grabs are Dante's Inferno posters, action figures, comics and a shirt spoofing the three wolf moon shirt!

In order to win one of these prizes, we want you to show us your take on one of the nine deadly sins that the Divine Comedy talks about. Limbo, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Wrath, Heresy, Violence, Fraud and Treason are all things that will send you straight to Hell, and we want you to take a picture or video of yourself committing one of these sins! Whatever the picture or video is, please keep it safe for work and/or don't do anything that could be considered illegal. Also, please make sure you have something that's Dtoidy in the picture and no photo editing is allowed.

The grand prize winner will receive nine posters, a Dante's Inferno action figure and a signed copy of the first Dante's Inferno comic. Eight first-place runner-ups will get the the action figure and a signed comic. Ten second-place runner-ups will each get the signed comic.

In addition, all 19 of the winners will be getting the "3 Cerberus Moon" shirts created by Dino Ignacio, Dante's user interface designer. These shirts were made as exclusives to the team at Visceral Games, and this is the first opportunity for anyone outside the studio to get the shirts.

You have until February 9 at 11:59 PM CST to enter a photo in the comments below. Contest open to US residents only. Good luck!

[Update: Contest open to Canadian residents now too!]

This week Destructoid is sponsored by Legion, a movie about angels who fight with machine guns. Well, that's how I would have pitched it to Hollywood, anyway.

Destructoid has three $100 gift certificates to give away, which you could totally spend on nine of your best friends to see this film together (or one other person and half of a hot dog if you live in New York). Just check out the trailer and leave a comment (preferably, a complete sentence) below for a chance to win. The winners will be chosen at random by a team of trained underwater aardvarks tomorrow (contest extended!) this Friday.

Good luck!

[Update: Winners are Gamechamp, jasondm300 and Squirrelygod!]

The results of the Overgrowth/Natural Selection 2 contest photo

I had a damned difficult time choosing my nine favorite pieces of art y'all did for the Bunny on Alien Ultraviolence contest, but I did. Since I have to.

In no particular order, the winners are:

CreamyGoodness7, UltraAssKicker, Niz, Beyamor, Radix, Allord, Brando (I dunno why I didn't see it coming, but I didn't), Electronic Samurai, and KaL YoshiKa.

It was, again, really difficult to pick the winners, and damn near everything submitted was incredibly cool.

If you did win, please post your email in the comments below and I'll shoot an Overgrowth/Natural Selection 2 preorder code your way.

Win Darksiders Avatar gear! (Also, sword winner) photo

First of all, let's get the Darksiders sword out of the way. We charged readers with the task of proving their manliness in order to win the awesome Chaos Eater sword, pictured above. Many of you entered and demonstrated your might, but after careful consideration and a few staff debates, we believe Crunshii's masculinity won out, thanks to this CBlog. Well done you! Please use the Dtoid PM system to give me a shipping address.

The rest of you pansies, you missed out on the sword, but there's still another way to look like a badass Horseman! THQ has kindly sent along some download codes for the Darksiders Avatar gear we posted about earlier. We have codes for Xbox Live Avatars and PlayStation Network goodies. In order to win, all you have to do is comment. Easy, eh? We'll award these set items to the following winners:

Poster of the 50th comment: PS3 Ruin Head Mask (unisex)
Poster of the 100th comment: Xbox 360 Ruin Head Mask (female)
Poster of the 150th comment: PS3 War Costume
Poster of the 200th comment: Xbox 360 Ruin Head Mask (male)
Poster of the 250th comment: Xbox 360 War Costume (female)
Poster of the 300th comment: Xbox 360 War Costume (male)

You can enter as many times as you like and multiple winners will be accepted. These codes should work worldwide but I can't promise anything. Winners will be PM'd their codes. Good luck!

Prove your worth and win a badass Darksiders sword photo

Earlier this morning I showed off the ludicrous Chaos Eater sword that THQ sent me in the mail. Those of you who could concentrate on anything other than how fat I am were immediately impressed by what is clearly the ultimate swag. You want one. Obviously you do. You can win one, too!

Yes, we have a second Darksiders sword to give away, courtesy of THQ. All you have to do in order to win it is to prove that you are manly enough to handle its power. A sword like this is too awesome to be wielded by any normal human. You need to demonstrate your martial prowess, physical strength and integrity in order to be chosen.

The manner of proof will be entirely up to you. You can use a photo, a video, anything you like. However, a sword this badass WILL require you to put some effort in. I will only award this blade to a champion of virtue true. So, think you have the power? Prove it! You have until Thursday, January 14 to do so!

For obvious reasons (being that it's a giant and heavy sword), this contest is US only. I know, that sucks.

Wolfire Games and Unknown Worlds have joined forces for the Overgrowth/Natural Selection 2 pre-order sale. For the next week only, you can pay $39.95 to not only pre-order both Overgrowth (the sequel to indie kung fu classic Lugaru) and Natural Selection 2 for 40% off, but also gain access to the alphas for both games.

If you're not in the paying mood, however, we've got you covered: Wolfire gave us nine codes for the pre-order pack, and I've decided to give them away using the only objective metric I know of: brutal, gratuitous violence.

Well, not really. Here's the deal: draw or Photoshop an image of rabbits fighting aliens. Post your image in the comments below. That's it. The rabbits don't need to resemble Overgrowth characters and the aliens don't have to look exactly like those in Natural Selection 2, but the option is certainly there.

On January 13th, we'll announce the winners.  Sound good?

Giveaway: Comment to win a code for Allods Online's beta photo

Need a new MMORPG with less brown and scores of MMO-ass MMO stuff? Perhaps Allods Online will do something for you. Created by Gala-Net and Astrum Nival, this upcoming free-to-play MMO features tons of colors, airships, traditional classes, and over 1,500 quests. The art style in particular is hip -- it’s something of a mix between Skies of Arcadia and World of Warcraft.

Check out this Internet literature if you’re curious or toss a comment into this post for an opportunity to go hands on with the closed beta. The first 50 people that type "DO WANT" in the comments section will receive a code in their PM inbox this afternoon. Go, go, go!

Contest: WHAT'S IN THE BOX?! (part two) photo

The last two mystery boxes full of magical cancer curing creams are waiting to be given out to two lucky Dtoiders! But there's a twist!

For today's contest, you can't win. Well, you can't win directly. For this contest, we want you to put down the name of another Dtoider that you want to see the prizes go to. Just put down the name of another Dtoider with a link to their account and if we pick your comment, the Dtoider's name you wrote down will get the prize.

We'll be picking two random comments after the contest closes at 11:59 PM CST tonight to give the prizes to. If we catch anyone cheating by using two or more accounts, then you will be banned! We will be checking IPs and in fact, any account created within the last 12 hours won't be able to win. Winners of any of the previous 25 days of giving contests aren't illegible to win today's contest either. One entry per person. Now go go go!

[Update: Contest over! Prizes go to Fiat Mediocriy (thanks to broonor) and mollygos (thanks to Yaxnzax)! ]

Contest: WHAT'S IN THE BOX?! (part one) photo

Today we're giving away ... well, I have no idea what we're giving away. We have four boxes of mystery swag sitting in the offices and two of the boxes are being given away for today's contest (the other two boxes will be given away tomorrow). There might be games, there might be shirts, there might even be fetuses in the boxes! I really have no idea.

So how do you win one of the two boxes? For today's contest, we want you to take this news story about Left 4 Dead 2's DLC featuring the original four survivors and re-write it in the style of a Dtoid editor. Channel your inner Chester, Sarkar, Nicholson, Concelmo or any of the other staff members as you re-write the story in one of our styles. Each of us on staff has a persona, a certain style, when it comes to writing out stories for Destructoid and if you've been reading us long enough, then you know exactly how we all act.

You have until 11:59 PM CST tonight to submit your re-write in the comments below. The two best entries will get themselves a mystery box. Contest open to US residents only. IMPORTANT: If you've won any of the previous 25 days of giving contests this month, then you are ineligible to win today's contest.

[Update: Winners are HarassmentPanda and DanlHaas!]

It's the final week of Destructoid's 25 days of giving contest series!

MX vs ATV Reflex hit stores earlier this month and looks to be one of the better MX/ATV games in a long time based on what I saw from Rey's video preview for the game. I also noticed that Rey needed a damn haircut.

So that's what we're doing for this contest today. Yup. In order to win MX vs ATV Reflex (Xbox 360), you need to take one of the pictures from the gallery below and give Rey Gutierrez a haircut. Use whatever photo editing program you got to give Rey a new hair style. Whatever you make, please keep it safe for work!

You have until this Wednesday at 11:59 PM CST to submit your picture to the comments below. Contest open to US residents only. The best image will win themselves a copy of MX vs ATV Reflex. Now give that boy a haircut!

[Update: Winner is Jimmy Pettersson!]
