I have traveled beyond the sunset. I have lifted the veil and gazed into the shining blue yonder. The edge of the world is never just so; there is always more to experience, more to imbibe, and more to soak in.

The world of Arcadia fascinated me from the moment I took the helm. Air ships were the main mode of transportation between floating masses of land. Even the Blue Rogues' headquarters was located in a secret dock within one of these miraculously hovering islands. Before I had even made it back to base I had already discovered a landmark that no one else in this world had seen! What other secrets lay hidden across the globe? For all I knew, the world was a flat place where dangerous creatures lay in wait at the edge, mouth agape. I immediately had a sense of excitement instilled in me.  view full story + comments

Chirp! Chirp! Chirp! Chirp! BWEH! BWEH! BWEHHH!

We've all heard the distinct wail of the videogame penguin; the shrill siren's call that drives players to lunacy. I was out saving the Kingdom one land at a time when I stumbled across a remote settlement. No discernible sign of human life, yet there must be some life here. Madness must have already taken its icy grip on my psyche: the very snow itself has taken a form similar to mine and attacked me. The whirling snowflakes of the deceased figment obscures the distant skyline. Could there be any other brave souls out this far in the darkness?

At first, I believed it to be the wind. A howling whine, too high to be a creature of the Earth. As I drew nearer, I see that the Hellish shriek belongs to none other than an orphaned penguin child. Where are its parents? The harsh environs here would have snuffed the baby's life days ago if left unattended for long. They must be near.

No. This is sorcery -- a vile trick this land is playing on my mind. This is how the mariners of old were cascaded upon rocky shores, splayed out to bake in the ancient sun. I am no fool, I will follow this demon-spawn to its source and end this infernal nightmare.
