Review: Assassin's Creed 2
Assassin's Creed is generally considered to be a solid, if somewhat flawed, videogame. Despite earning praise for its visuals, concept and unique story, the 2007 title was criticized for its repe... 412 comments

Left 4 Dead 2 on the PC gets a patch
While those of us with laptops who couldn't process their way out of a simple algebraic equation are playing Left 4 Dead 2 on their 360, there is definitely a large chunk of gamers out there who ... 25 comments

I found this fun little Halloween-based Mario flash game and figured I'd share it with the rest of ya. I must have played it for an hour or so now trying to get the highest ratings for each levels. Can you get a Starman rating for each category on each level?

On Sundays, ya really gotta dig deep to find stories and this one should probably be buried. The only dance game I've ever played was Bust a Groove 1 & 2 back in the day for the PS1. Never got into that whole DDR craze thing, though it would seem that craze is going to get a bit bigger.
Apparently Acclaim is keeping the dance game genre going by creating an MMO dancing game called DANCE! The game will not be subscription based, but rather implement the strategy of in-game advertising and paying for items. The fact that you don't ask for money every month could be a good selling point, as Guild Wars has proven in the past.
From what I could gather in the forums, you will be able to join a "team" and have dance-off competitions. I'm starting to get a strangely interesting vibe from this game. You can sign up for the beta on the above link and check out the forums here. This could be to DDR what MMORPGs were to RPGs. Now if I can just figure out if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
Oh, and you can get married too! *sigh*

First, Robert told you that Universal does not support Sony's Blu-Ray video format. We also know that Europe is not happy with Sony about their delay to March 2007. They say that there is no bad publicity, but Sony seems to have found a way. I can't remember the last good publicity Sony's gotten and it's getting worse. Eurpoean consumers are so mad that they've created a website exclusive for Sony PS3 hating. See for yourself at This Is Waiting.
Some of you may have seen the European marketing slogan that this is a play on, This is Living. Thankfully, Sony is sticking to PLAY B3YOND here in the states. Check out the spoofs on This is Waiting and let us know what you think about this whole situation!

I got some extra time and have been itchin' to post something so I decided to go big. I've been called a hater of the PS3 and even a fanboy of the 360, but this post is straight facts and I'm going to call it like it is. The truth is that I want the PS3 to succeed more than most, though, I believe that it will fail. I recently took a moment to read up on the history of Sony and their video game systems. Now, if you were to do this with other companies you might find the same thing, but for the sake of this article I will only be referring to Sony history. Hit the jump if you have a few minutes :P

OK, so I haven't written anything in a while due to having damn near 3 jobs right now... But I saw this and felt the need to support my 360, once again. According to Megagames, Microsoft released XNA Game Studio Express which is a kit to create games on Windows that can be converted to XBOX 360 downloads later on. Read the whole article to see how schools are eager to use this in their curriculum. Microsoft may be the evil juggernaut that forces most of us to use it's operating systems, but it's as cunning as it gets, and this is more supporting evidence.
This will surely give those interested in designing games another tool to learn and profit from. It almost seems like everyone wins. Upcoming developers get to create new games (Although I'm sure it would be on the scale of most Live Arcade games, but ya gotta start somewhere). Miscrosoft gets $100 a year for the program. Consumers get more choices. This is what America is all about and I commend Microsoft on this move, whether there are alterior motives or not (which there almost certainly are :P).
What do you guys think? Is this going to be the next big video game economic breakthrough or just a waste of your Microsoft Points?

First off, let me state that I love Tekken 5: Dark Ressurection for the PSP. As I played yesterday on my lunchbreak, I realized that if you get a perfect the game simply says perfect, but if you win with very little health it says GREAT! So I can clearly see that the creators thought that winning with the little bit of health left was impressive.
Which gives you more of a warm fuzzy, making the comeback with a sliver of health or getting the perfect round untouched?

OK, so Gametap itself is not necessarily new, but after exhausting myself with all my current games, I gave in and checked it out. I'm currently in Gametap's first two week freebie period and I must say, I'm impressed. I went to Target and picked up Logitech Precision controller for 10 bucks and the gaming was on. I started with a little Altered Beast and moved into Burger Time and so on. All the games are faithfully ported and respond well. From Street Fighter to Splinter Cell to Beyond Good and Evil, the games played completely identicaly to the original versions and were easy to move to and from. Hit the green meanie for more info...

Megagames reports that Team Fortress will be shipping with Half-Life 2: Episode 2. For some of us, this is a blessing, but to others, it's another means to sell episodic content we may not want... I personally did not purchase Episode 1 because I didn't care what happened after Half-Life 2 ended. I got Sin: Emergence instead, which entertained me for a few weeks while I waited for real games like Titan Quest and Prey, both of which I'm hooked on right now.
But what do you guys think? Is this a good way to get it out there, bundled with episodic content, or is this just a ploy to get our money?

So, we all though Nintendo was untouchable after the Wii, eh? Not so, as Megagames reports that there are quite a few people reporting a crack in the same location on a hinge of the DS Lites. Now, not all of these bad boys come like this -- there are certainly more that are not cracked than are. I'm sure that soon Nintendo will either refund, exchange or recall, if they haven't already. They've got a good track record.
So, stop telling me I'm just hating on the PS3, lol.

The Ship is based on... a ship. But this ship is special. It's an online multiplayer (and singleplayer, but that doesn't sound as fun) game where you log on and you get a name on a piece of paper. This name is the name of another passenger that you must KILL. But there is security running around and suspicious activity may cause them to search you. You have to make your kill without anyone knowing you did it.
Oh, and did I mention that someone else has your name?
Anyone else think this is a great gaming idea?

OK, apparently a SCEE PS3 QnA was leaked, either on purpose or on accident. It matters not. What matters is the information contained. I'm a bit too tired to read it all, but check it out over at Megagames and tell us what you think. What I'm most excited to see is that all games are region free. The whole 'computer system' deal is like, whatever... So tell us what you like and don't like about this information. Does this change how you feel about the system or how it's being distributed?

OK, as some of you may or may not know, data gathering is becoming more and more common. It's an act by game companies to send them information about your playing habits and/or other info, who knows... This is exactly what people have a problem with, yet in the world of Valve it would seem more to help the players. According to this article in Megagames, the company changed a few things in an elevator level to make it more accomodating, obviously due to difficulty issues.
The bad and possibly ugly, after the jump...
