What's Child's Play you say? For the ignorant, yes I'm looking at you, Child's Play is a charity run by those two crazy guys over at the webcomic Penny Arcade. Child's Play is dedicated to improving the lives of children in hospitals around the world through the use of video game and toys. Get in the holiday spirit people, it's not over yet. Last year, the charity raised over $600,000 in cash and games from the Amazon wishlist they've set up. How much have they raised so far this year? $963,000. You people still have some love left in your cold, dark robot hearts, don't you? This is the final push people, it's just a bit away from $1 million. Open up your PayPal accounts and donate to the cause at childsplaycharity@penny-arcade.com. Gamers unite! Help sick kids.

Destructoid readers, I must say, this is awesome. An eBay user by the name of HelloKitty followed by a ridiculous number of ones is selling these painted NES consoles. They aren't that expensive either with "Buy it Now" price of $125. It isn't that bad when you take into account that you're getting a console too. There are seven different consoles and each of is fairly durable due to the fact that they're painted with acrylics. Hurry up and grab one before the rest of the internet finds them. Links to each auction, containing more pictures, after the jump. [Via Insert Credit]

You guys remember Killer Instinct, right? You know, Cinder? Glacius? Well it looks like Rare might be coming out of the dark with an Xbox 360 edition. At least that's what the UK gaming magazine Games TM is saying. If this happens to be true, this could be a great move for Rare. Rare hasn't exactly had the best lineup so far, starting the 360 out with Kameo: Elements of Power and Perfect Dark Zero. They have been getting better though with the newly released Viva Pinata and a new Killer Instinct game can only help them that much more. The premise of a next-gen Killer Instinct is very tempting and the "wow factor" alone would sell a great deal of copies. This is going to stay in the rumor stage until we hear something concrete from Rare. Also, Orchid is hot. [Via 1PStart]

I give in Destructoid readers, I admit it. I love the hacked Wii browser. Everything works flawlessly now, the keyboard comes up when you select a text field, every image loads perfectly, and I can even log in to websites and in the case of Destructoid, post comments. Sadly, it took quite a bit of work to do. Find complete instructions after the jump.

Nerds, awaken! We all knew that it was going to happen eventually when we discovered that the Wii sensor bar was just a group of IR LEDs. Friendly googletubian doctabu has made a do it yourself version so you too can make your own wireless Nintendo Wii sensor bar. He has a lot of pictures in the videoand explains everything, which doesn't take long considering the simplicity of the project itself.
Now, it's not entirely complicated requiring four or more IR LEDs, soldering gun, a perf board, batteries, and some wires. This would be perfect for those of you with large televisions or projectors where your console isn't anywhere near your Wii. Come on Destructoid readers, let's see your wireless sensor bars!

It is with great sadness I say this, but the makeshift Nintendo Wii browser really sucks. You have to set up a DNS redirect through your PC which changes the address that the Wii Shop channel tries to go to. The problem is that it crashes often and can't load a lot of images, which is why the Destructoid home page featured above appears rather... naked. You can't use text entry either, so no searching or logins. Should I even bother mentioning that there isn't a spot for URL entry? The makeshift browser is constantly being worked on, so hopefully it will continue to improve, but until then the internet utters a collective, "Meh." The real Wii Shop says that the Opera browser should be coming Dec. 20, and every minute seems longer than the last.

Despite the clutter of stupid people bidding and eventually buying all of the shady PlayStation 3 eBay auctions for boxes and random paraphenalia, this one purchase stands far above the others. eBay user takeawildguess23 put up what appears to be a PlayStation 3, to the ignorant of course. See the whole story after the jump.

Small Arms, the Super Smash Brothers clone with guns, is going to be coming to the Xbox 360 on Wednesday for Xbox Live Arcade peeps. The game will run you 800 Microsoft points for 12 characters with their own weapons, 12 achievements -- including the viral achievement only attainable if you play with someone who already has it -- and eight maps to play on with three of your Destructoid buddies. Good deal? At least they aren't screwing you over with microtransactions, like some people. (We're looking at you Q Entertainment.) See the whole press release after the jump.

NES Paul is rockin' out with his c*ck out with his DIY NES guitar. For the courageous (and musically gifted) this god of a man posted a quasi-DIY guide here, complete with extra pictues. How much would you pay for one of these babies? This god of a man sacrificed his NES, the best system evar, to make a freakin' awesome guitar. Unlike the Halo fanboy who made the rocket launcher, this awesome project is actually functional. How much would you guys pay to have one of these? More than a PS3 on ebay? I doubt it, with auctions like this out there. I challenge you Destructoid readers, do what NES Paul did, expect with a Guitar Hero guitar, for those of us who suck at guitar. Like me. (Thanks to reader namelessted for the tip.) [Via XoCMusic]

Nope, it's not two 20G PlayStation 3 models, it's the price of some guy on Craigslist offering his services as a bodyguard. Imagine, you're in line, and some punk 12 year old cuts in front of you after you've waited for 38 hours. What happens next? Check the picture above. Big Brotha' Willie stands 6'7" and can "hurl a 160lb body ten feet off the curb." Apparently the $1,000 also covers two to three hours of friendship. Gee, what an awesome guy! Mr. Entreprenuer also offers a $1,050 package for the high rollers our there. What's the $50 for you ask? Elbow throwing, what else? But seriously, props to him. If I were a large black man, I would do this too. No charging for elbow throwing though, that's just pure satisfaction. Don't feel bad for the guy paying $1,000 to some guy to protect him, feel bad for the people who get f*cked up when they try to cut you in line because in the end, the puny nerd has a PS3. Still skeptical? Check out this snapshot of his ad here

It's that time of the year again and Amazon is conducting their world-famous customer vote. What's so important about this? Just the fact that they're going to sell Xbox 360 Cores for $100. Yes, that's right, $200 off. Clearly, this is an outright challenge to CompUSA and their Black Friday $99 Xbox 360. Of course, you don't have to buy a cell phone to get your cheap ass 360 on Amazon. Skeptical? We don't blame you. A deal like this has never come to pass -- you can't even buy a now 6-year-old PS2 for $100 off the shelf. If you, like us, are finding this information hard to believe -- consider the following: - Merryl Lynch spontaneously declared Xbox 360 the winner days ago
- Microsoft forecasts to move 4 million units this holiday, which what they have done cummulitavely last year
- Respected tech sites like TechCrunch are talking about it
- A little bird told us it's a done deal
That said, don't expect to walk into Wal-Mart any day of the week and pick one up. Keep your eye out for the deal in key retailers, because it will be here any day now to disrupt other next-gen product launches. There are other options in the Amazon vote, including the Barbie in the 12 Dancing Princess Interactive, Mongoose Domain Dual Suspension Mountain Bike, and a gift certificate, hot dog! Microsoft has some pretty stiff competition. Be sure to go and vote for Microsoft in the competition of the ... week.

...that just about half of all those planning to buy a PlayStation 3 (48%) are under the assumption that it will be less than $300! Well, I hate to burst their hypothetical bubbles of happiness and cheap gaming consoles, but no f*cking way. Developer Webzen put on quite a show at E3 with its MMOFPS named after highly esteemed science fiction author Aldous Huxley, Huxley. Don't fret Planetside fans, Huxley isn't destined to be a complete failure. Today Webzen just gives us more of a reason to want to engage in wild monkey sex with them game. For solid proof, just check out the video! As a whole, the video is great. The game itself seems very reminiscent of Unreal Tournament 2004 and its style of gameplay. The game is absolutely gorgeous, incorporating the Unreal 3 Engine. My only gripe is with the framerate. A few times in the video, the framerate really seems to start to go straight down, and it really takes away from the experience. They still have a lot of time though, let's hope they can fix it.

Yes Destructoid readers, this is real. There is a man on your screen dressed as not one Nintendo Wii, not two, but three Nintendo Wiis. If he wanted to body slam small children or have trouble fitting through doors, he should have dressed as the PlayStation 3. The creeptitude and sympathy I feel for this man is simply indefinite. Someone who would do this to themselves is quite courageous. I can't imagine why someone would make a ridiculous costume and then post pictures of themself on the internet.
The costume is complete with Wiimote arms and Wii classic controller eyes. Note the nunchuck footies, complete with joysticks. If you happen to be the sad soul featured above and you've managed not to have been laughed out of intelligent civilization, I have but one simple question for you: why the mustache? Find the full gallery of pictures here.
