The first Mega64 GDC ad showed the convention off as a giant party. The second GDC ad was all about the nerds. Both ads failed to get passed but third times the charm, right?
Well, if you're Anthony Burch, then you'll love this ad! If you're not, then you won't understand it at all but will pretend to know the meaning behind it just so you can fit in with the "in crowd" because the girl with the thick framed glasses is really cute and you think you have a chance but unfortunately for you she's going to commit suicide in a week because she saw a pigeon take a crap and it moved her so much she just couldn't handle life anymore.
Rey chatted it up with the developers behind BioShock 2's multiplayer and got to hear about some cool stuff in regard to the blasphemes mode. BLASPHEMES INTERNET RAGE RAWR!
Jim is crazy thinking that Aliens are better than Predators, the latest episode of Podtoid features Samit talking about #sports, Ubisoft announced Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Dead Space Extraction might be hitting XBLA/PSN and more happened on 02/09/10.

Our review for BioShock 2 went up today. It's a great game, but doesn't quite live up to the original. Read our review to see why the game got the score that it did!
We talked to 2K about BioShock, David Cage talks to us about creating mature games, Holmes continues his bosses of No More Heroes 2 feature, you still have some time to win some Dante's Inferno prizes, Dragon Age sequel is in the works and more happened on 02/08/10.

Freedom of life is a freedom we all are given when we are freed from the confines of our mother's wombs. To take away our freedom is take away that which what makes us free.
Mega64 is against censorship, which is good because that's against freedomness. Mass Effect 2 unfortunately is against freedom and censors itself when sexy things happen on the screen. When I play a game set in the future, I want to see it all.
Unless alien sex involves a Venus Flytrap-like monster popping out of where the vagina would normally be. Then no, I don't want to see that sh*t. That would be gross.
It's a Dante's Inferno mega giveaway of extreme awesomeness this week! Thanks to AttentionUSA and Electronic Arts, we're giving away a bunch of Dante's Inferno-themed prizes this week -- 19 prizes, to be exact! Up for grabs are Dante's Inferno posters, action figures, comics and a shirt spoofing the three wolf moon shirt!
In order to win one of these prizes, we want you to show us your take on one of the nine deadly sins that the Divine Comedy talks about. Limbo, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Wrath, Heresy, Violence, Fraud and Treason are all things that will send you straight to Hell, and we want you to take a picture or video of yourself committing one of these sins! Whatever the picture or video is, please keep it safe for work and/or don't do anything that could be considered illegal. Also, please make sure you have something that's Dtoidy in the picture and no photo editing is allowed.
The grand prize winner will receive nine posters, a Dante's Inferno action figure and a signed copy of the first Dante's Inferno comic. Eight first-place runner-ups will get the the action figure and a signed comic. Ten second-place runner-ups will each get the signed comic.
In addition, all 19 of the winners will be getting the "3 Cerberus Moon" shirts created by Dino Ignacio, Dante's user interface designer. These shirts were made as exclusives to the team at Visceral Games, and this is the first opportunity for anyone outside the studio to get the shirts.
You have until February 9 at 11:59 PM CST to enter a photo in the comments below. Contest open to US residents only. Good luck!
[Update: Contest open to Canadian residents now too!]
[New releases is your weekly look at all the hot new titles coming out this week.]
This week sees the release of two major games. BioShock 2 and Dante's Inferno. Both games offer up some good action adventure goodness and we have reviews for both titles already up for you to see if you'll like the games or not.
Other than that, this week is pretty light on releases. All for the best, as games like BioShock 2 and Dante's Inferno in the same week will outshine everything else. What's looking sw33t to all of you? Full list of releases is after the break!
Thanks to 2K Games, we have two Mafia II pin-up 2010 calendars to giveaway! The calendars depict some lovely pin-up models in less then ideal situations. And sure, we're already one and a half months into 2010, but there are hot womens in this calendar! Deal with it!
In order to win a calendar, we want you to take a picture of yourself doing your best gangster impression. What that entails is up to you, just make sure something Dtoidy is in the picture. No photo editing is allowed and contest is open to US and Canadian residents only. You have until this Friday Feb 12 at 11:59 PM CST to submit your entry to the comments below.
As seen on Weekend D: It's the old Donkey Kong Country promo. I truly miss videogame marketing like this. It's just too serious today. Granted, it's our jobs to try and make videogame news entertaining now.
We talked to 2K about BioShock, the new Monthly Musing topic is up, Holmes looked at the bosses of No More Heroes 2, you can win a bunch of Dante's Inferno swag, Sonic might be playable in Mario Galaxy 2 and more happened over the weekend.
[Best of the Network is a look at some of the hottest articles that came out of all the Modern Method Web sites this past week.]
Mr. Destructoid makes his return to yet another videogame! This time it's for Raskulls, a Mr. Driller type action puzzle game. Check out the trailer for it above that was directed by our own Rey Gutierrez.
On Destructoid, Dale listed ten things he loved and didn't love about Final Fantasy XIII. On Japanator, celebrate Man Day with everyone! And on Tomopop, check out the review for the Valkyria Chronicles' Selvaria Bles figure.
[Weekend Destructainment is a collection of funny videos brought together from all across the Internet to bring you entertainment on these slow and boring weekends.]
Frank Howley made a parody of Ke$ha's "TiK ToK" and gave it a very videogame spin. Strangely, it's pretty catchy.
Weekend Destructainment is a little smaller than usual, but there are still some videos here for you to check out. After the break, Dtoider P4KO does a rock cover of some Zelda music. Then the Icarus Kid performs some videogame remixes.
Next up, Patrick Stewart tells us why he's afraid of videogames. Then it's a classic Mega64 video. Next up is the Tetris song. The Destructainment ends with a Nintendo Power promo for Donkey Kong Country.
"Ace of Knaves, that clip reached previously unheard of levels of awesomety. Though it did make Patrick out to be sort of a creepy voyeur. Maybe if we start him on games?"...
[Destructoid lets you write blogs on whatever subject you want! The best community authored blogs get promoted and this regular round-up lets you see everything that hit the front page from the previous month.]
Good community blogs get fapped (voted up) and mentioned on the regular Community Highlights feature. The best blogs get promoted, whether for our Monthly Musing series or just being awesome on its own. For January's Musing theme, The Future, we wanted to hear about the bad things games allow you to do. Here's all the Community authored Musings that got promoted:
"......Fuck, , I didn't post my blog in time! Shit!
Well, there's no use in stopping now. Might as well just finish it, post it, and just let it go....
...Dammit. -.-"...
While Dale is busy posting videos of year old YouTube virals, I'm here to bring you fresh and current hotness. 8bitduane's music here might sound familiar and that's because Duane isn't a stranger to videogame-themed rap music. He was a part of The Adventures of Duane and Brand0 but now he's doing his own thing and the music still sounds just as good.
8bitduane is building up his own collection of music with help from Robert Sloan and the music videos were created by RZA24. Above is a rap based on the only Mario property that has yet to be whored out by Nintendo. Check out Bad Dudes and Castlevania covers after the break.
The Tetris Company has dominated the mobile market and has a presence on almost every platform ever. So the only thing left is for The Tetris Company to beam Tetris straight into your brains. Or in this case, straight from your TV.
The Tetris Company and Oberon Media are working with DISH Network to bring the addictive puzzle game right through your Television sets for just $2.99 a month. You'll be able to play Tetris with your remote control and particiapte in tournaments for prizes and spots on the national leader boards. There will be two game types for Tetris TV -- Marathon mode where you'll have to work through 15 challenges and 40-Lines where you have to clear 40 lines the fastest.
I'm really liking this push for casual social gaming on large scale terms. This is the future, people.
