We've already talked in depth today about GoldenEye 007 thanks to our recent interview on the game, but maybe you weren't quite sure about exactly how the game was being reworked. Developer interview video to the rescue!
Above you will find the devs discussing all sorts of things like how they've updated the game, and how they're working on making the AI stand out. Hopefully it's not just a bunch of PR talk and we'll actually get an impressive shooter out of the game. With so much being reworked this will definitely be a new experience for us to play through, but will it stand up to the legend that is the original game?
PAX Prime 2010 starts this Friday! This will be the fourth year in a row that Destructoid has attended the nerd mecca and in Seattle, Washington and we have some awesome things in store for you during the entire weekend!

"I wish I could have been there this year, my first trip to the US last year, was made even better by you lot.
Sometime ion the future, I will be back, only with a ton more money"more
Alex, global PR for Mad Catz, is PR incarnate. The man is brilliant to interview with more energy and enthusiasm than you can shake a stick at. Once I saw him at the Mad Catz booth here at PAX Prime, I knew we needed to do another interview.
Alex takes some time to tell us all about the new limited edition Call of Duty: Black Ops TRITTON headsets with a run down of everything from pricing to specifications while Alex and I do our very best hostess impressions complete with 'Oos' and 'ahhhs'.
This is the first time Mad Catz has shown these TRITTONS on camera and I have to admit, they are f**king beautiful, if not a little to big for my feminine sized head.
"These look really cool, but the thing is, a True 5.1 Tritton headset (without Black Ops branding) is $170, so why do you have to pay $80 more for a carrying case and a cool paint job? That seems ..."more
Bond is back, and this time he's back in two new games. One of them is an entirely new venture in the form of Blood Stone the other is a relaunch of one of the most iconic games ever made, GoldenEye 007. While the former is terribly exciting the latter is obviously a bit more high profile thanks to its namesake. Thus it was with great interest and trepidation that I got the chance to toss some questions at Julian Widdows the Executive Producer at Activison Blizzard UK.
He actually addressed a lot of interesting things about how much the game was being remade and why they chose to dive back into GoldenEye on the Wii. Moreover he gives a fantastic response to whether or not you should play the game with the Classic Controller Pro or the Wii Remote and Nunchuck. Read on for the full interview.
"Some of the strangest comments I've read in awhile.
I'm a little more interested in this game now, but the cries that the wii is so underestimated etc just seems like such PR BS.

It's no rumor -- there is two-player co-op in Sonic Colors.
The way it's presented ain't too shabby. See, you aren't actually playing as Sonic or one of his furry friends. Instead, you assume control of robotic Sonic copies racing through Eggman-designed simulations, sort of like test runs to see if his devious traps are enough or if he needs to return to the drawing board. Doesn't that just tickle you?
These levels, which are unlocked by collecting secret rings in the main game, offer all the same speed and thrills as the single-player mode with the addition of obstacles requiring teamwork to overcome. You can combine powers, like the drill and laser, to create a souped-up amalgamation, then afterward you can screw each other over as you try to reach the goal first.
Reminds me of New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Could be fun, could be frustrating. We'll know for sure soon.
"@ sprldr - It is named Sonic Colours, in the parts of the world where they spell the word that way. Don't you remember when the very first trailer got leaked? That's what the logo said."more
Believe it or not, Pokémon Black/White comes out this month. Naturally, this means that Japanese television is being assaulted with enough commercials to ensure that every last citizen goes out and buys ten copies of each color.
Above is the oddest of the five new ads currently making the rounds. For the first ten seconds, I wasn't even sure this was Pokémon. I got excited thinking it was Golden Sun or something! They're really testing the waters with this generation.
Be sure to hit up GoNintendo for the other four commercials.
Remember that Japanese Tetris video, where contestants have to contort their bodies to safely pass though gaps on fast-approaching walls? Well, this upcoming WiiWare game by Nintendo and KeysFactory looks a lot like that.
Surinuke Anatousu, which means "going through holes," has you flipping an assortment of shapes (called "katamari," I kid you not) in 3D space and squeezing through holes to reach the end of each level before time expires. You can perform tricks by drawing silhouettes with your pieces to fill in an entire hole or earn bonus points by picking up gems along the way. It's nuts, it's lovely, and it looks hella fun.
The game drops on September 7th for 800 Points in Japan, but I'm sure it'll pop up in the West sooner or later.
When I was on my plane to Seattle, getting ready to play some games, meet some gamers, and prepare for tomorrow's Destructoid LIVE panel, I never thought I'd be leaving the first day of PAX with the ability to say that I have played Duke Nukem Forever.
Sometimes things happen that are so bizarre, you don't know how to process them.
I played Duke Nukem Forever today, and I liked it.

That's not all! Thanks to the AMAZING folks over at Uber Entertainment, we also have one Pit Girl statue, a Pit Girl poster, a Monday Night Combat Hat, chocolate, bacon salt, bacon popcorn and, no joke, bacon chap stick to sweeten this ultimate giveaway. This is a total value of about $150 in prizes and it can all be yours! All you need to do to enter is use a photo editing program to put a character from one of the Summer of Arcade titles into another game. For example, put a Hydro Thunder Hurricane boat into Limbo. Another example is to put the Limbo kid, Lara Croft and Alucard into a match in Monday Night Combat.
We're looking for the best/funniest creations here. This is a crazy prize pack and you'll have to put some effort into your pictures if you want to win! You have until September 8 at 11:59PM CDT to submit your creation in the comments below. Limit one entry per person and contest is open to US and Canadian residents only. Good luck!
I still can't wrap my head around the name Cargasm. Is it an orgasm of cars? Are the cars enjoying orgasms? Are the drivers? Should players expect to experience a cargasm while playing? Because if so, I'd like to know what I'm getting myself into and if I need to prepare a towel.
While we ponder these most important of all questions, we can enjoy these newly released screenshots of the game. Guess what! They contain cars! They also show off some of the London environments in the game, which are looking quite detailed. Apparently they are "the most photorealistic in the history of videogames."
I also have to mention the trophy names that the press release included, "Cargasm Rave, Thrust, Lesbos, Orgy, Gigolo, Lothario, Playboy and the most coveted of all, Cargasm Sultan." I think this game might like sex a little bit. I suppose that's what we can expect from a game that allows you to collect women.
Hey, if anyone happens to have a cargasm while viewing these screens, please tell me what it was. What did it feel like? Was there motor oil involved?
Remember back when the Badman series was called the Badman series? You know, back before the whole "This sounds too much like Batman so change it or we'll take all your money" thing happened. The series went strong with two games under a new name, What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord!?, and now it's coming to PSP with a third entry, No Heroes Allowed!
Like the previous games, you'll dig dungeons to kill off heroes in as many terrible ways as possible across the 33-stage story mode. New to the series in this entry is a cooperative mode that will allow Badman to team up with his daughter, Badmella, to conquer the world even more quickly.
We liked the last game in the series a lot, so PSP owners who also happen to hate heroes should keep an eye out for more on Badman's future exploits. I'm just waiting until I accidentally start calling this No More Heroes Allowed!
Ruffian Games has given players another reason not to play Crackdown 2 today, as its just-released DLC pack, the Toy Box add-on, seems to only take things away from the game. Namely, its ability to function.
Ruffian has pointed to a potential fix for the problem, asking affected players to clear their console's cache, delete the DLC, delete their profiles, and redownload the DLC and profile. Users on the Ruffian Games forums have confirmed that the fix has worked for them, but boy does it seem like a lot of work where the only reward is playing more Crackdown 2.
If you've already purchased the Toy Box add-on, at least you don't have to feel like you've completely wasted those 560 Microsoft Points. For everyone else, maybe today just isn't the right day to put some pretty new colors on your agent.
Thong Friday is now a thing. Take off whatever lesser underwear you're currently donning and squeeze into your sexiest neon-colored thong. Do not send us videos.
Instead, watch this new story trailer for the upcoming DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue, a game that is coming much sooner than anyone could have expected. Like, this month. What?
In any event, the trailer goes into great detail about the titular thongs (which is now the name of my new death metal band). Of note is the fact that the trailer seems to suggest that Santa Claus himself was corrupted by one of the six thongs of virtue. Man, that explains so much about my childhood. It also contains a pirate tune sung by DeathSpank himself. Pirates are always funny and appropriate.
So, is the thong of cuisine enough to make you excited for another journey with DeathSpank?
The Batman is very pleased this day. His next adventure, Batman: Arkham City, is "complete," playable from start to finish and in need only of some tender polishing.
The information was discovered on a recent OPM podcast (#11 for those who want to hear for themselves), which revealed some exciting new details about the sequel. For one, there's a new grapple system that propels you into the air, which should make for some extended bat flight and some harsh punishment from above.
There was also a discussion of co-op play (which would make sense considering there were previous hints of multiplayer), but nothing is confirmed yet. There's definitely something brewing in the land of multiplayer, but we'll have to wait and see just what it is. I'm sure it involves punching.
It's important to remember that "complete" doesn't mean that the game's going to be in our hands tomorrow, but, you know, I don't even care. Just knowing that all the parts are in place makes my fists ready for bashing. In the best way possible.
"Nice. They've already reached BETA stages for the full game. While it might sound weird that they're getting a full year to polish the game, you have to consider just how big this game is and j..."more
Because you can't get enough collections of Namco Bandai classics, the publisher has announced another one -- Namco Museum Megamix for Wii. The disc will feature 18 arcade ports, along with six "remixes" versions of games that feature 3D updates and Wii motion controls.
Expect to find the usual suspects on in Megamix, including Pac-Man,Galaga, Mappy, and Rally-X. It's the updates that should have you interested, though. Pac-Motos will let you control your own Pac-Man, tilting the Wii Remote in an attempt to knock other players out of an arena. GROBDA Remix has players controlling Pac-Man through arenas taking out tanks. "Get ready!"
Red 5 Studios announced today a new team-based shooter, FireFall, due to be released some time in 2011. And it has bugs. Nasty, disgusting bugs. I can only assume that they must all die.
The game is being developed by a team made up of designers from the Tribes series and the lead designer of World of Warcraft. Quite appropriately, the game is a mixture of the design philosophies of these two series: take a dude shooting stuff and toss him online shooting at stuff with a ton of other people. While the game is being described as a massively multiplayer game, it will not carry a monthly subscription, instead relying on in-game transactions to keep it going.
There's a hell of a lot going on in that gameplay video: resource gathering, jetpacking, and even some air travel. If all of this is done right, this could be a damn fine 2011 release. I never could get into the Tribes games, but I'm all in for FireFall.
Ballistic Publishing, the folks behind The Art of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, have announced its next PlayStation partnership, The Art of God of War III.
Set for release this October, the 272-page book will feature a "visual history tour" of the game, including 100 pieces of art that didn't appear in the game. The book will feature concept art, character studios, character modeling, and more, giving you a behind-the-scenes look at Sony Santa Monica's production process.
Ballistic is also offering exclusive character modeling walkthrough videos to anyone who purchases the book through its website. The videos will feature Santa Monica character artist Katon Callaway detailing how the Cerberus and Hephaestus characters were designed.
The Art of God of War III comes in two flavors -- paperback for $65, leather-bound for $129.99, and a "Limited Folio Edition" for $300. What does three bills get you? A leather-bound presentation case, a hand-signed an number Certificate of Authenticity, and a hand-carved cover ornament designed to look like the "Blade of Exile."
