Eledees DS screens and artwork: The sinister little freaks are back photo

Eledees (or Elebits, depending on where you come from) wasn't a bad little Wii game, in that "oh God these little things are going to murder me" way. Now they're coming to the Nintendo DS so they can haunt me on the bus, with The Adventures of Kai and Zero. It looks like the series is taking a more RPG-esque route on the DS, ignoring the first person zappery of the Wii version.

We have some screens and a few pieces of artwork for you. Nothing that'll make your balls swell with delight, but worth a gander. The original game was an overlooked piece of simple fun, so I'll keep one eye on this ... and another on my back to make sure none of those wretched little sods hit me with a sneak attack.

I'm dissapointed at the lack of the really creepy Elebit on the cover art for the first game. Also the art direction looks like the bastard child of Pokemon and a very whimsical JRPG (Children of Mana?) which is probably a good thing.

Sneakers, shorts, t-shirt, cap and backpack. We've seen those basic clothing articles a million times, when it comes to "modern" rpg's. Yet, I honestly have a hard time imagining any of them, in this particular case, being any more elaborate.

Sheesh. Awesome character design, but was *that* amount of detail necessary? Besides, it makes the cap look creepy, as if his brain was poking out of the front.

I really like the art design. It is vibrant and elaborate, and the colors are so vivid! For the game itself, I'm interested (wasn't fond of the first, but who knows what it'll be in RPG form?).

But I wonder who got the idea, and how? "You know that game where we chased Elebits?" "You mean the thing we did just to show we could do something with the Wagglemote?" "yeah. well why not turn it into an adventure-RPG game for the DS, with actual story involved?" o_0

My balls have swollen with delight! Elebits was the most fun game that I played on the wii for a while. You could move THE MOON FFS. It was awesome.
