It's always sad to hear about games getting the proverbial axe, but the cancellation of two PlayStation 3 games from SCEE London Studio, The Getaway and Eight Days, might see a happy ending yet.
"This decision was made following an internal review of all games and it was deemed that with the incredibly strong list of exclusive first party titles coming up both this year and in the near future, resource should be reallocated to enhance those projects closer to completion."
For those of you who only have vague memories of the two games, this video and these images should refresh your memory. Although very little of either title was ever revealed, what was shown seemed pretty cool, at least to me, anyway.
In any case, the deaths of Eight Days and The Getaway could actually end up benefiting other Sony games in the end, which is always a plus.
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied: "bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

I'm still uncertain that the Eight Days trailer was really in-game footage. It still looks fake to me, and it's not like Sony hasn't tried it before...
I guess they had to clarify the statement because there were lots of eternally-hopeful Sony fans who were saying the games weren't cancelled, but "on hold." ;)
The first Getaway game was pretty decent, and I've never really played the sequel. So yeah, I'm not really disappointed that the sequel got "canceled". Also, I don't think I've heard of 8 Days before, but the premise sounded pretty snazzy.
I find it weird that people were still hyped for 8 Days when we haven't seen anything from it since BEFORE the PS3 even came out. So yeah. Not surprised.
Figured this would happen from the first time i saw the trailers. Looked like bullshot (bullshit screenshot, can also be used to describe pre-rendered trailers).
Was probably vaporware from day 1, marketing for the platform.
I remember the Eight Days video back then, with the tanker truck smashing into the diner or something? I'm not gonna bother with that video link since it's moot.

I feel nothing for The Getaway.
am I psychic?

I swear it's still in stock brand new at every game store I go to.
I'd like to see them take another crack at the Mark of Kri name.
