Eidos trademarks 'Tomb Raider: Underworld,' we pray for Kate Beckinsale tie-in photo

Who's ready for a new Lara Croft adventure? Eidos Interactive is ready for a new Lara Croft adventure, that's two. The publisher has recently trademarked the name Tomb Raider Underworld, which one can assume is the name of the a new game where Lara Croft raids tombs.

Game|Life has rumors of a plot which involves the Mayan Calendar, and takes place during "five days when the line between the mortal world and the Underworld becomes blurred." Of course, this causes a s**tstorm, with powerful beings invading our world, and only Lara Croft (and skimpy outfits) can set things right.

If these rumors are true, we're disappointed -- a tie-in with the werewolf/vampire film saga which stars Kate Beckinsale would have been ideal. Alternately, some sort of tie-in with the UK electronica group, Underworld, might have been interesting, too. In all honesty, we're getting a bit tired of powerful beings tearing through the fabric of reality and invading our world. But werewolves dancing with Kate Beckinsale? We're sold.

For some reason, I read "Tomb Raider: Underwire" and thought of this:

Who am I kidding, I was thinking of that anyway.

Underworld was a horrid movie with a dull story, but I'd pay to see it a second time to further ogle Kate Beckinsale.

I'm so tired of fucking tomb raider games. yeah we get it lara croft is hot blah blah blah. I have a much better idea for a game, how about womb raider a game where you get to play Lara Croft's abortion doctor who has the insurmountable task of scraping the innards of the ravaged cesspit she calls her uterus thanks to her years of promiscuous activities with dirty natives. I'm thinking maybe an exclusive wii release?

both I guess, however I was starving and stuck at work when I posted that so i guess it did come off a little harsh, but still it was a pretty sweet game idea!

A shame, I really enjoy tomb raider games :-) Yeah its boring how over sexualized Lara has become, but I still like her character. I like the Tombs. I love Tomb Raider :D

Can I just make love to Karima Adebibe and we'll call it a day? I like the idea behind the Tomb Raider games, but I'm just not real interested in them. Sowwee.

So both Legend and Anniversary were generally well recieved... But I should pretend Tomb Raider is still garbage because it will make me cool and edgey. Am I doing this right?
