Villains are often the standout characters in any work of fiction because, whereas the heroes are typically clean-cut and bland, villains don't impose any limits on themselves. They can be as d*ckish as they want and don't take smack from anyone. One of my most memorable lines from Super Mario Bros. Super Show was when Koopa reneged on a deal with Toadstool and said, "One of the nice things about being evil is... you get to lie a lot."
On that note, here are some exclusive pages from the upcoming Sonic Universe issue #39, arriving in comic shops on April 18. Following up on the events from last month, Eggman has tracked his traitorous assistant / nephew Snively to the Dragon Kingdom, a Chinese-like region of Mobius. Snively wants to rescue the Iron Queen, a technomage who Snively recently helped place as ruler over the Eggman Empire after the doctor had a psychological breakdown. Of course, Eggman is feeling better now and doesn't want a repeat.
He's got a ninja clan under his control and wants to legionize them, basically turn them into a cyborg army. A proud clan, the ninjas refuse, but Eggman basically has them all by the balls and is forcing them to do it anyway. 'Cause he walks on the scene and gets business done. That's how he rolls.
As much as it pains me to say, Sonic and Mega Man's fun times together in "Worlds Collide" won't last forever. But hopefully enough new readers will be ready and willing to stick around for what lies ahead for both heroes.
