The mechs were pretty efficient in 2017. I used them quite a bit. The helicopters and the tanks had atrocious controls, though.

The vehicles are only useful in the first stage. After that, you're better off just keeping your distance wherever possible.
He never said the last one. He referred to it as the first one both times. So maybe he's talking about the Japanese first one. You assumer.

I hope this game delivers! I have not played any other EDF games and have this fully paid for for launch day.

I did manage to get some use out of the helicopter, using it to single-handedly take down the giant Godzilla-type creatures on every difficulty, and I got limited use with it shooting down fighters because of the wide spray of bullets. After that, though, I gave it up because ants and spiders on the harder difficulties killed it in one shot.

Hoverbike I just used for escaping. You hit a freakin' curb with that thing and it exploded.

I would jump in the Heli whenever I was playing split-screen with my buddy. Nothing more epic than watching his screen as an Apache rains down missels into a sea of ants...
