eBay: $3k SNES CD dev controller, Wally Bear and the No Gang NES cart photo

Game auction blog gameSniped features several gaming collector item auctions in a recent post, but the highlight is a prototype controller for the unreleased (duh) SNES CD development kit. For the reasonable price of $2,999, you can nab a useless piece of gaming history! As of New Year's Eve morning, 28 offers have been submitted. I'm offering a kick in the pants for charging $8.95 shipping on a $3k item that weighs less than 1lb.

The same eBay seller also lists a prototype Nintendo Entertainment System cartridge for a game called Wally Bear and the No Gang. I'm with the No Gang on this one: No. The auction states that its rareness comes from its ACGI label. This item is also reasonably priced at $1,999.

I thank the robot gods that my "ebay wants" are much simpler: I just need a mint, sealed copy of Enix's Bust a Groove. We're talking hundreds, not thousands.

Is this that original Playstation? You know, the Sony/Nintendo hybrid that got canceled?

God, I played Bust a Groove WAY too much. I could probably recite some of the songs, still.

i hate that most ebayers way overcharge for shipping. $8.95, then you get it media mail and they spent $1.23. And why does everyone overseas (outside the US) think they need to charge $40 for shipping? it's like $10 to ship airmail.

@topgear

That would make sense given the rectangle/triangle select/start buttons and the cross shaped recesses around the driectional pad and main buttons. wild.

Original is Bust-A-Move, the Groove version replaced Strike's cigs with a can of soda, because, well Americans don't smoke apparently.

I still have my copy of Bust-A-Move 2, I get offers on it occasionally, but the first is a bit more rare.

This controller up for auction isn't serious. I know the buyer and he basically put it up to get some publicity. He intentionally made it for 3k as he has no real interest in selling.

Funny thing is he got the controller for free, so if someone did shell out that much it'd be quite the payday.
