EB Games Australia sets insane price for Uncharted 3 CE

10:30 AM on 08.12.2011 // David Rayfield

We're only three months away from the release of the biggest PlayStation 3 title of 2011 and you would be forgiven for already being caught up in the hype. EB Games Australia, however, seem to want to burst that bubble of excitement by slapping a price of never-before-seen insanity on the "Explorer Edition" of Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. It is, if you can believe it, priced at AUD $208.

While game prices in Australia being unusually high isn't a new phenomenon, this sets a new standard of overpricing. As of this writing, the Australian dollar is currently trading at USD $1.03. But despite this parity becoming the trend, the US price of the "Explorer Edition" of $99 (AUD $95.83) holds no bearing on what price point EB Games decide. With the Australian videogame industry already on shaky ground recently, this only does further damage, as extraordinarily high prices such as these force Australian gamers to turn to importing for this PlayStation 3 exclusive.
